Hello, am selling my 1927 ford roadster pickup. This thing is really fun, am just ready for my next build, o something has to go cause I am out of room. This is a reliable driver to go bouncing around town in. It needs a few details sorted out but I have been driving it as is. I will try to be as detailed as possible, lease ask questions, nd if you are anywhere near Atlanta please come by and see for yourself.Body: Real Henry Ford Steel 1926-27 roadster body and bed. Both were sand blasted and offending metal was replaced. The body is in no way perfect. It still has some pitting and some spots that show the age and some dents, specially in the bed, ut all rust was removed then it was primed an painted. I chose not to erase all of that character, ut it was too far gone to be left as it was. Please see the build pics and listing pictures. It is not a show car but it is defiantly not a rat rod. There are some build images in at ldcustoms dot com. The windshield stanchions are original and were at some time nickel plated, hey do need to be redone now. The bed is 5/8 cedar planks. Gas tank is early 30's Chevrolet.Engine: 1955 Ford 292 y block rebuilt and bored .30 over. Runs like a top, ires right up and does everything like it is supposed to. It is a real Thunderbird motor, watched it come out of the Thunderbird myself (...the guy was putting a 289 in his restored 55 Thunderbird so i jumped at the chance to buy the motor.. not what i would have done were it mine....but the tbird isnt mine...so please don't email about that part.) If that is not enough, eal yblock lovers will notice the double crank pulley that is Thunderbird only. The vintage Edelbrock 553 intake has 3 Holley 94's with a progressive linkage. The outside carbs have the idle circuits blocked off, o it fires right up and idles great in the cold or sitting in the Atlanta summer traffic. The radiator is a huge Walker brand. It is running points ignition, nd a 12v generator. The exhaust is custom made from and early ford inner drive shaft. The lakes caps are functional, t runs through smithy exhaust under the car when they are capped.Transmission: Thunderbird three speed with a borg warner r-10 overdrive unit. The unit functions, ut it gets stuck in overdrive, am not sure if it is the solenoid or not. I am not sure but for some reason the solenoid retracts but it does not pull the pawl out. I am not sure if the return spring on the solenoid is too weak or if the pawl is getting stuck for another reason. The solenoid is and early 60s 12volt model. I have been driving it with the overdrive locked out and figured I would get into it over the winter. The clutch is a wilwood hydraulic set up. The shifter is a Hurst syncro-lock, t is a really cool shifter that you can turn into a straight line shifter if you wanted too, ou just remove a pin, eat design.Chassis: Custom chassis with a z'ed rear end. The front axle and wishbones are model a. The front brakes and spindles are 1940 ford. The rear end is a 1960 Thunderbird 9 inch that has new axle bearings brakes and drums. It has a dual drum drum master cylinder. I looked a the gears and they were in great shape when I did the axle bearings so I left it alone. I think there is a little more lash than it wants, ut I figured that might be a winter project. The rear end is mounted with 1936 ford radius rods and a 40 ford transverse spring. The gauges are stewart warner except the speedometer. That is a 48 Chevrolet, he gauge itself works, ut I think the little plastic gear in the transmission speedo housing is broken, I have not looked into it further. The sending unit in the gas gauge needs to be adjusted, ut I tend to just look into the tank. The tach is a real sun tach, ut needs to be sent in for service. It works but the needle drags a little bit, t was a swap meet find. The interior is incomplete, ut I cut panels out of sintra (pvc board that will never rot) and they are ready to be upholstered, he seat is just plywood and foam, ut I did add seat heaters on both sides (its nice in the cool weather.) The tool box will be staying with me.Will be sold with a bill of sale, A does not title vehicles this age. It is currently registered and insured. Will be for sale locally as well. I am a personable guy, lease ask a lot of questions. It was fun to build, t is fun to drive. I want whoever gets it to know just what they are getting and be really happy with it. The shipping is the buyers responsibility deposit required in 48 hours, on refundable.
