You are looking at a vintage 65 Ford Mustang Latemodel oval track race car. I do not have any history on the #49 but based on sponsors and rule packages from the 1970s, e feel this car was built in the mid 1970s as an asphalt Latemodel on the west coast. It appears to be based on a 69 Lincoln Mark III chassis. The sponsors which I can make out are Renegade Racing Trailers, & J Kit Kars, nd lawyer from Descanso which when googled comes up as a town in California. The engine is most likely a junker. Looks to be a stock truck 302 with truck bellhousing and 3 speed top loader transmission. The drive line is not fastened in the car and nothing is hooked up. It does not run. The rear housing is Ford 9" with NASCAR style trailing arm rear suspension. Note the wedge adjusters in the back window. I believe this was a top notch build for the day. Look at all the adjustment that could be made in the suspension up front. More recently, omeone updated the brakes with an Air Hart dual master cylinder pedal setup but I also have the original, and built pedals to go with the car. We feel it was an asphalt car because it has provisions for lexan windows and a rear view mirror. It could be rebuilt to race on dirt, sphalt, val or road course. Does not look like it was ever seriously wrecked. Sorry, do not have the front sheet metal. Comes with everything shown. The 9" center is an open with 4:11 gears. Please note the rare steel slotted style rear race wheels. I have front race wheels to go with but are the newer D slot design. The Lincoln chassis build looks to be a professional, hop built job. Not a back yard hack job. It really wouldn't take much to make a unique vintage Mustang race out of it again. Because it's a race car, here is no VIN or title. Sold on a bill of sale.
