For your consideration is my wonderful 1982 Fiat Spider 2000 Convertible. If you are seeking a Pininfarina styled Italian sports car that is still affordable this is it. This Fiat Spider is a beautiful car that not only has the great looks of much more expensive exotics but runs fabulous and is safe and reliable. Most folks don't usually put the Fiat label and reliable in the same sentence, but this little beauty has been completely rebuilt to make it a drive or show anywhere vehicle.Everything has been redone, rebuilt, gone over, etc. etc. you get the picture. The previous owner spent thousands of dollars making sure the mechanics were all in order so that he could enjoy this fun to drive sports car anywhere without fear of any issues. The original 2.0 Fuel Injected Twin Cam motor was completely rebuilt, the 5 speed manual transmission received a thorough going over and replacing 2nd and 4th gear synchros. A new clutch kit was also installed. The chassis was also refurbished with new upper and lower control arms etc. etc.and finished off with KYB shocks all around. Factory 14" Speedway alloy wheels and new tires help make the ride comfortable and the this Fiat handles great. All new brake, rebuilt calipers and a new power booster ensure that this 4 wheel disc brake system is operating properly. A new radiator and performance electric cooling fan were also installed so the car runs cool in summer and has great heat for winter. The fuel system was not ignored, as a new gas tank and fuel pump were installed.Finishing off this restoration he had the original rust free body (see photos of the trunk well still wearing it's original paint) refinished in a beautiful dark blue metallic. The car was originally dark blue but non metallic and he felt it did not light up as he would like to. He was so right, the new metallic blue is very similar to a vintage Ferrari blue and adds some extra spice to an already great body style without looking non-original. The paint is super nice with it's base coat /clear coat wet sanded and buffed to a nice smooth no orange peel finish. Unfortunately the photos don't really do the car justice as it has been overcast when taking the pictures but she really lights up in the sun. All body gaps are good. When I purchased the car I decided to take her to the next level so I started by replacing the convertible top with a sharp looking " buckskin " (not the usual light cream) color that goes so well with the dark blue paint. Next, I completely disassembled the original interior fixing little things here and there while it was apart. I replaced all the old light blue carpet to a much nicer black carpet set and re-dyed the console, arm rests and door carpet. Now the car has a nice two-tone effect that matches the dashboard and top section of the doors. While I was at it I added a n.o.s. old school analog car stereo and a nice storage / arm rest console that looks factory.I love the later fuel injected Spiders but always liked the early styled bumpers. It was an expensive upgrade but I just couldn't resist so I installed the Harrington euro bumper conversion and bracket set and wow what a difference. Removing the tubular bumpers also requires putting new signal lights on the car, so I did a custom installation on the vintage looking " beehive " amber signals you see in the photos. Custom end caps were made and installed for the rear bumpers as the conversion kit does not include any. The grill mounted driving lights also add to the vintage Ferrari look I wanted to capture.Being a total car buff now that this Fiat is finished, it's time for a new toy to get involved with. The car comes complete with all service manuals, owners manual and a binder loaded with receipts for all the work done, spare tire, jack and original tool kit.Any questions or concerns please contact me through Ebay.
