This 1968 Fiat 500 is one of the cleanest examples you'll find of the iconic Italian city car. Featuring a professional nut and bolt restoration by famed Lancia Aurelia expert restorer Franco Di Piero, his build exemplifies top-notch craftsmanship and accurateness.

The Fiat was a one-owner vehicle belonging to a woman in the North-Easter Italian region of Friuli Venezia Guilia who used the vehicle for her daily commute to work as a school teacher. The vehicle was in original condition, aving never been involved in an accident, nd in great mechanical shape before being acquired by the restorer.

The decision to completely restore the vehicle was made so the vehicle could be presented as a surprise gift from the owner of the body shop to his daughter for her 18th birthday. The restoration process began in January of 2008 and was finished in June of 2009. When the vehicle was presented as a surprise birthday gift, he daughter didn't accept the vehicle as she wanted a Smart car instead. The 500 was sold to its current owner who brought the vehicle to the United States in July of 2010. The mileage on the vehicle upon completion of the restoration was 80,000 km. Since being brought to San Francisco, he current owner has only driven the Fiat 1,150 km with the current mileage at 81,150 kilometers. When not driven, he Fiat is garaged.

Details of the restoration include:

-Vehicle was stripped and sandblasted. The floors and fenders were cut out and replaced. Bare metal was treated with etching primer followed by polyurethane primer and catalyst acrylic enamel. After paint, he car was wet sanded and polished to minimize orange peel.

-Original hardware was re-plated or replaced. All rubber trim, luminum window trim, ubber grommes and bumperettes were replaced.

-Bumpers (and supports), ub caps, eadlights, aillights, urn signals, ide lights, indshield wipers and wiper mechanism are new.

-Door panels, eat covers, loor mats, oft top, oft top frame and latches have all been refinished. Door handles and cranks, oor latches, oor hinges, top straps, nd instrument cluster switched are new.

-Suspension is all new including shocks, ebuilt leaf springs, all joints, teering joints, nd arm bushings.

-The brakes have been rebuilt including new lines, new shoes, nd new hydraulics (hoses, rake cylinders and main).

-Tires were replaced and have only 1,150 km of usage.

-Emblems and outside trim were replaced.

-Mechanically, he engine was rebuilt including new cylinders and pistons, ebuilt head (valves, uides, eals, am shaft), od and main bearings. Rebuilt generator and started motors. New gas sending unit. New exhaust and muffler.

-The gear box was in good condition. The clutch was replaced as well as the throw out bearing.

-The gas tank was cleaned and repainted. The tool bag and jack were restored and repainted the original color.

Vehicle has current California registration.
