Car description |

1969 Ferrari 365 GT 2+2. US market car. Matching numbers: S/N 12597, Engine No. 12597. Aubergine with Black Leather Interior. 1 of just 809 Ferrari 365 GT 2+2's built. Front-engine V12. Roomy interior with air conditioning, power windows, and variable ratio power steering.
Western US car most of its life; Georgia car for last few years. Well cared for, with records back to 1976.
Car drives fantastic. Motor sounds amazing with great power. Transmission is smooth with good second gear synchro. Brakes stop the car evenly and effectively, the front suspension feels tight, and the car tracks straight.
At 58k miles, the engine was removed and rebuilt by G. Westbrook of Atlanta, Ga. At 64k miles, the wheels bearings were replaced and some of the front suspension restored. In 1987 the gearbox was rebuilt. Alternator and power steering belts were replaced in 1997. Front suspension was rebuilt in 1998, at which point new springs and shocks were installed. Distributors were rebuilt by Patrick Ottis in 1999, and a valve adjustment was done at this time as well. The radiator was also recored in 1999. In 2000, the ring and pinion were replaced, and differential rebuilt by Patrick Ottis. At 76k miles, Mr. Ottis performed a compression test which revealed the following results: 180, 175, 155, 180, 175, 175, 180, 185, 185, 175, 185, and 180 lbs. In total, receipts over $40k. Car currently has 85k miles.
The body is relatively straight, but new owner should consider repainting. Several small rock chips and use marks on the sides and front of the car. The car has not been abused, just driven and enjoyed. Chrome is good. Nice Borrani wire wheels with Pirelli P400 tires.
The interior is nice, with original leather material. The front and rear seats are good considering their age and mileage. Dash wood is very nice. Original gauges and switches very nice. Headliner is very good. Factory wood wheel is in very good condition. Fitted with aftermarket radio/player. The trunk is in very good, unrestored condition.
Car comes original manual, parts books, tool roll with some tools, jack bag with hammer and aftermarket jack, spare wire wheel and tire, extra keys, and extra used parts.
