Car description |
---|
I have decided to sell my Factory Five Racing 427 Cobra replica. My car is in excellent condition as can be seen by the photos. I purchased the car in 2008 and completed it in 2010. A couple of years later I upgraded the Ford 302 Windsor to a 351 Windsor. This car is carbureted as were the originals and has a Ford T5 5 speed Transmission.
The motor is a roller cam 351W with a ford E cam installed. It has 3 bar GT40 cylinder heads with roller tip rockers, a Wieand dual plane intake manifold, A quick fuel double pumper/ mechanical secondary carburetor with Hellings air cleaner. It has a Mallory magnetic distributor with Taylor wires driving a HEI ignition module and a MSD coil. It is using a low pressure in take fuel pump and has a Ford Racing aluminum water pump. The motor has a remote oil filter and a remote oil cooler mounted below the aluminum radiator.
Te transmission is a Ford T5 5 speed transmission with a T5 mid shift conversion tailshaft. This replaces the awkward long shifter and moves it forward approx. 8 inched to position the short throw shifter in the proper driving position. I have a working cruise control installed for long drives. This drives a 3.55 ratio ford 8.8 posidrive rear axle. Engine and transmission have poly mounts.
The car has the Factory Five 3 link rear suspension, Koni coil over shocks, front and rear. The car has Ford Cobra big brakes and a vacuum assisted master cylinder and manual rack and pinion steering.
The wheels are 17" Team III Halibrand replicas with Nitto 555 tires. The exhaust side pipes are Breeze quite pipes that have a great tone, but allow you to still have a conversation with your passenger.
The car is painted Lexus Indigo Ink blue with viper silver stripes. It has clear 3M paint protector spats on the leading edge of the rear fenders. It has a single chrome rollbar with Lucas windshield wipers. The interior has fat mat installed, then carpeted with FFR mats also. The seats were upgraded and re-upolstered with covers from England, They also recline and can have an optoional head rest installed. I have installed a Sony stereo that I use a USB stick in. It is controlled by a small remote on the middle console. Speakers are behind the seats in the rear bulkhead. Seat belts have been replaced with lighter 2" 4 points belts from retro belt, but the heavy 3" Simpson belts are also included.
All seven gauges are Autometer. It has an Electronic Speedometer, Tachometer, Fuel, Oil Temp, Water Temp, Volts, Oil Pressure, Manifold Vacuum, and a Wide band Air/Fuel ratio monitor. The dash lighting is blue LEDs. The electrical system is a new Painless wiring harness with a master disconnect between the seats.
I will assist in shipping, but it is the buyers responsibility to arrange and pay for shipping.
I have tried to include major details about my car. Please see my pictures and feel free to ask questions. There are many Cobras for sale, many look great but are not the best build quality. I have completed my car to the best of my ability and I am confident whoever purchases it will be satisfied with my car. Thanks for looking. Bill
