Car description

This truck is an intoxicating mix of vintage and upgraded. After all, a 1941 Dodge Power Wagon would usually have a tough 4x4 military history that we all love, but this example has actually been adapted to run on a more modern fuel-injected Dodge Dakota frame. So yes, this is quite an interesting build that you need to read on for all the details.

The Power Wagon has a military-style tough-as-nails-attitude, and this one really represents that well. The two-tone red and black has a true classic style, and there are nice details, like the starts on the doors. But the real charm here is a level of ruggedness that's always on display. The body still shows signs of its well-earned creases, and the paint has been applied with an eye for function. Sure, you could get a respray in a high-gloss shine, but the way this presents today just feels like it connects with nearly 80 years of a ready-to-work attitude. That's also why this has the big brush guard up front, a liner in the bed, and a proper trailer hitch on the rear. And those 16-inch alloys not only alloy you more modern/grippy tires, but also hint at what's really within this truck.

Inside the full red and black theme continues. And this is also where the more modern upgrades really begin to be seen in this truck. The cab retains its classic steel design, but integrated within it is an upgraded bench seat, proper carpeting, and a newer gauge panel. There are even some nice creature comforts, like an upgraded steering wheel on a tilt column and an AM/FM/CD stereo mounted in the glovebox. You even have provisions for air conditioning.

The hood still has the classic butterfly look, but within it is something much more modern. Dodge's 3.9-liter Magnum V6 was a fine powerhouse for trucks like the Dakota. And the fuel-injected setup means it fires up with the kind of eagerness they didn't even dream of in 1941. It's a tight fit to put a full modern setup into something this vintage, but they did it quite well, right down to the aluminum radiator w/electric fan. The Dakota didn't just donate its motor, the undercarriage photos show that the chassis is an upgrade, too. That means an independent front end and a far smoother ride. This upgraded Power Wagon still keeps its go-anywhere nature thanks to the two-speed 4x4 transfer case. But now you also have a five-speed manual transmission that gives you full control no matter if you're crawling up hills or overdrive cruising. Plus, power steering and power brakes w/discs up front are more features that are welcomed for anytime use.

Rugged Power Wagon looks are now adapted for a more everyday lifestyle. This is a cool custom pickup that you need to get your hands on right now. Call today!!!
