You're looking at one seriously sinister 1974 Dodge Dart. There was plenty invested in upgrading the V8 power and turning this into an all-dark machine, but you have to pay too much to get this mean-as-midnight Mopar in your garage.
The glossy black really sets the tone nicely for this Dodge. These Darts had minimal chrome to really make a high-quality color look extra-special, and the good luster highlights desirable features, like the coupe's fastback-style roofline. But it's also important to notice come cool upgrades. The front end is more like the early 1970s Darts with a smoother look and body-hugging bumper. And speaking of bumpers, having the front and rear color-matched in black only adds to this car's attitude. Plus, those new 17-inch Ridler alloys coordinate with the darkness and give this the stance of a serious muscle machine.
The darkness continues inside with a clean and black package that also has been upgraded for performance. The front seats are new high-back Procar buckets, and the rears are done to match. There's a center console w/storage in-between the front seats, but what really gets your attention is the B&M ratchet shifter. You get a grippy sports steering wheel, and it gives you a clear view to the full upgraded dash. Toggle switches, upgraded gauges, and an AutoMeter Pro-Comp Monster Tach are all signs this one is serious about speedy business.
Just like the rest of the car, the engine bay has a clean and mean look. The dark inner fenders and firewall funnel your attention to the bold V8 block in the middle. And even the air grabber and Mopar valve covers are done in black for an added dose of attitude. Dodge's mighty 360 cubic-inch motor was rebuilt for extra performance with a Demon four-barrel carburetor, an air gap intake, and headers that feed the rumbling dual exhaust. This also has the right supporting components, like an MSD 6AL-Z ignition, Holley electronic fuel pump, and a large aluminum radiator w/electric fans. As you look underneath the car, you'll spot newer component, like the gas tank, stainless exhaust pipes, leaf springs, and heavy duty sway bar. There are also great driving features like the stoutly rebuilt Torqueflite three-speed automatic transmission, front disc brakes, and the grip of modern BE Goodrich gForce sport tires.
