Description:
This example shown has to be one of the nicest if not the nicest 1974 Dodge Charger SE in existence. This car is currently within one of the fastest growing Mopar segments and right now is your chance to own it as it keeps increasing in value. This highly and desirably optioned “Two-Tag†car also contains the original build sheet. The codes indicate the car was built in Lynch Road, MI and contains the “High Class†trim package. The Charger SE continued as the top trim level for 1974 and included a landau vinyl top with filled quarter windows - six opera windows (3 per side).
This car was originally sold in the province of Manitoba and was said to be sold into the province of Saskatchewan sometime in the 1980’s. This 59,000 original mile car was then purchased and stored by the previous owner about 18 years ago with the desire and plans to have it fully restored. He kept it in his Mopar family until he finally accepted the fact that he was not going to have the opportunity to give this car the restoration it deserved. The current owner then purchased this 74 Charger SE following through on the plans the previous owner had. This car went through a 2 year nut and bolt rotisserie restoration. Beyond some items that were in such great original condition, pretty much everything else on the car is new or re-conditioned to new. The car was an original Yellow Blaze car, but the Lemon Twist yellow shade was chosen when restored. Other than the subtle color change, the bulge hood and the rear spoiler were added to improve the car from original.
The complete drivetrain is matching numbers 400-V8 4 barrel mating to the Pistol Grip 4-speed manual transmission and standard axle. This drivetrain is what the car was originally born with. Both the engine and the transmission were rebuilt for this restoration. The car is a power steering power brake car with front discs and rear drums. The car runs and drives as one would expect based on its restoration. The car was driven very seldom since its restoration so the choice is yours if you want to keep it like new and show it or start to drive it more regularly.
Inside the car retains its original door panels and seats while the carpet, headliner & dash are new. The dash holds a brand new speedometer to celebrate its new build, however was recognized as non-functioning after installation. The original speedometer showing 58,863 miles will be sold with the car. The interior is well appointed with black bucket style bench with foldable arm rest. It includes items such as a driver’s side remote mirror and even a reverse indicator light to ensure you know when you are in reverse gear.
Overall, the pictures speak for themselves on this car. The paint and body is exceptional as is the engine, engine bay, undercarriage, trunk and interior - everything new or like new.
