Car description

1974 Dodge Charger. This driver quality Charger has been garaged since I bought it in Pennsylvania 15 years ago. The car was a zero option car when I bought her. She had a slant 6 and column shift. She was parked most of her life in a carport, which is why one side is entirely rust free and the other side has some rust in the driver side rear fender and in the panel right behind the front driver side wheel well. There are many aftermarket producers of those panels and they are the typical places for Chargers to have rust. All that said, you can’t see it unless you are truly inspecting the car. I have provided pictures of where the rust is. The paint is mostly original and is pristine in the trunk and the door jams, etc. There is some fading on the roof and other blemishes around the car. Some typical small door dings, etc.
The interior is in very good shape - the seats are original and the headliner is flawless. All original. I have been very careful to not drill a single hole in the dash and I haven’t cut a single original wire to splice. The Mopar gauges were all carefully installed to share fuses with the original wiring and can be removed and placed back to flawless original with little effort. All gauges work, although with the 4.10 gears, the speedo is off. I have the original steering wheel, which is also in very good shape.
The motor is a mid-70s 440 and was built about 10 years ago. It runs without any smoke and has a lot of power. There is a flat spot on hard acceleration, but a mechanic should be able to address. It developed over time. I have driven it to the Mopar Nationals in Carlisle every year and it goes with out incident, year after year. There are about 10K miles on the engine and 4 speed manual transmission. The rear end is 8.25 with SureGrip carrier and 4.10 gears. Stock is 3.23 and I would recommend returning the car to those gears at some point. 4.10s are great for light to light driving, but are tough on long drives.
I have some extras: Glass bulge hood, stock hubcaps, plastic rear louvers, and a bit more.
The reserve is set at about half what I have in her. She gets a LOT of attention out there. Please ask questions before bidding. I will work with buyer’s shipping company but setting up shipping is buyer’s responsibility - I am a suburban dad and have never shipped a car... Can take any questions and add additional pictures.
Car is sold as is. No warranty, actual or implied. $1,000.00 deposit within 48 hours is non-refundable. My son is now in college and I need the money for those things - there are two behind him!

More on the condition of this Charger: The rust in the rear driver’s side quarter was roughly covered on the inside of the wheel well lip and is largely hidden. The front is a quarter sized hole on the panel just behind the front wheel well. As mentioned, you have to get down and look closely to see it, but I want the listing to be completely accurate. A couple of other items - the passenger side windshield wiper just stopped working. Clearly off some type of gear track, but, after 15 years with me, it had to stop now that I listed the car for sale. Also, the clutch return spring is a little weak and I sometimes have to put my toe underneath the petal to pop it back up. Not a big deal and an easy fix. It does not affect the engagement throw of the clutch. The column shift steering column is still in place. I used the shifter well to mount the Mopar mini tach. I think it looks good. The linkage is suspended under the hood with a zip-tie and you don’t notice it unless you really look for it. I am at my picture max, but am happy to send pictures of any of these items by email.
