Up for sale is a beautiful rust free 1969 Dodge Charger.
This Charger was never rusted but has been cleaned and repainted.
This Charger has 383 engine with a 4 speed transmission.
It is not numbers matching. Mileage is not actual. Have Clear Michigan Title.
I bought this car in 1991 from a person in Nevada. It was a rust free green 318 v8 automatic car. I drove this car back to Michiganshortly thereafter. I then purchased a very rusty 69 Charger 383 4-speed 3.23 posi car from the upper peninsula of Michigan andswapped the entire driveline into the rust free Nevada car you see here.
This car runs and drives good. The 383 has a Mopar purple shaft cam and headers installed. The exhaust is 3" dual. The enginestarter is the small hi torque variety. The lift/duration of the cam does make it idle rough at low RPM. We have the idle RPM set about 1200so it will keep running without having to blip the throttle. I believe the engine compression is 8.5 to 1. The ignition is a MSD 8 boxwith the Chrysler magnetic pick up distributor. The ignition does have rev control and it is set to 5200 RPM. The engine works as itshould and is quick but please don't expect it to be a drag car in its current configuration. It sounds great but isn't ultra fast. The battery is mounted in the trunk and there is a battery disconnect switch located on the side of the transmission shifter housing.
I had a professional restore and paint the body about 10 years ago. The paint is a Ford deep red color and is very nice. Many newremanufactured parts were used where the body man thought it was the best choice. The car was never rusted but did have somedings and dents. I know at least one of the quarter panels was replaced with a new metal one as the old one has some minorcollision damage that was filled with body filler. The chassis is clean and straight. The car has always been stored indoors.
The interior got new seats and carpet. There is no radio in the car and the antenna is also broken off. The power windows work but do need a little help getting up at times.
I installed willwood lightweight disc brakes in the front. The rear brakes are factory 3" drum. The rear end is a 3.23 gear ratio suregrip. The 4 speed transmission is a stock A-833. The driveshaft is chrome mollysteel. Sub frame connectors are installed. Thetorsion bars are one setting firmer than stock hemi and the leaf springs are stiffer than stock also. Stock was pretty soft so the carrides great with these settings. I used polyurethane bushings in the suspension. Tires are very good.
I have a bunch of pictures please see them for the cosmetic condition of the car. The car has original rust free floors and trunk.
Lots more photos including undercarriage shotshttp://michiganpinball.com/chagerpics
This is a great vehicle to drive as is - or as a start to a build of an ultimate Charger.
This car is in Ypsilanti Michigan USA. If you want to come look at it before auction please send me a message and we can arrange a time.
