Car description |
---|
You are bidding on a 1982 D150 equipped with a '69 340 engine that originally came in a 1969 Dodge Dart. The truck also has a built 727 automatic. This engine and truck combination had set for several years before I found it. I was told it was a 340 engine and after closer inspection, I found it was true and after running the #s found that it came out of a '69 Dart. I was told by the seller that #1 cylinder, he believed, had low compression; after starting the engine that was confirmed. The heads were removed and completely rebuilt, replacing the needed valves, valve seats, seals, etc., along with new push rods and lifters. This engine has never been bored and the bottom end is solid, holding around 35-40 lbs. oil pressure when idling. It comes with factory X headsand the only thing not original would be the carburetor intake and exhaust manifolds.
As you can tell by the picture it is now equipped with an aluminum intake and a 750 Holley double pumper. This being an original southerntruc, the body is in good condition with only surface rust underneath. The brakes have been gone through with new lines, calibers, etc., assuring it was road worthy. I drive the truck locally at least once or twice a week and it performs great. It is really a smooth, good driving truck. The carpet has been replaced, a seat cover put on and the dash does not have any cracks. The truck came with air conditioning and I still have the intake and the AC pump if you would want to install that on the truck.
When I originally purchased this truck I was hoping to find a nice A or E Body Mopar to install this 340 and the 727 transmission in, but due to health issue I just can't put the time into restoring another classic vehicle at this time.
The truck runs and drives great. I can also come up with a 318 to go along with the truck in case you would want to keep the engine and just sell the truck. On the other hand, it is a cool truck just to drive around and would look great lowered and customized to your liking.
Note, the SRT wheels that are shown on the truck will not go with it, but I do have a set of rally wheels that came on the truck.
Thanks for taking a look at this unique truck, you can text me at 304-922-0924 or message me on eBay with an questions. As I am not looking to build anything, I am not interested in any trades. I just want to sell the truck - you can just hop in it and drive it.
Keep in mind what you could do with this truck. You could easily convert it over to a rider and still have a rare, strong running 340 that has never been bored or otherwise modified.
