Up for sale is one beautiful 1970 Dodge Challenger RT / SE tribute with a period correct 440 big block and pistol grip manual 4 speed transmission. The Challenger was just completely striped down to bear metal, block sanded, sealed, primed, painted, 6 coats of clear and then wet sanded and polished. Its painted in beautiful B5 blue and is laser straight and 100% rust free. The car is all metal (see attached picture) and had only one small patch put in before the rear passenger tire. This is a beautiful car with NO rust NO blisters and NO issues. Again this is a metal car and NOT a bondo bucket. The Challenger sat in a barn wrapped up and on blocks from 1990 (still has RI inspection sticker on the window) until 2012. The previous owner acquired it, tuned it up and put a new clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing and had the flywheel machined. When we got the car, we decided to strip the car and paint it. It looked like the paint and body had been done sometime in the late 70's early 80's. 80% of the chrome and stainless is new. New front and rear bumpers, new call outs, new hood graphic and side stripes, new gas fill, new door handles and so on. The only original trim pieces still on the car is the side markers, wheel well trim, hood scoop vents and tail light bezels. The tail light bezel trim is showing its age but is presentable. It is equipped with power steering and manual drum brakes. Every thing works as it should (blinkers, horn, headlights and so on) except the in-dash tach, parking brake and back up lights. The body is super straight and the gaps are excellent. During the re assembly of the car there was a small scratch put in on the top side of the passenger door (see video) that is the only blemish on the entire car. The underneath is as clean as the body. Rock solid and there is no hack patch jobs or rust issues. The engine bay is very sanitary and presents very well. The trunk is also very clean and in excellent shape. It has been patched long ago but is solid. The glass is original to the car so the driver side and passenger side glass does have a few scratches but nothing major. This car is an absolute beast. When you fire it up and drive it down the road, it sounds like Saturday night at the drags, it sounds MEAN! The motor is super healthy, fires right up, idles perfect, runs cool with great oil pressure. No smoke and no weird noises. AGAIN, SOUNDS AMAZING! Has a very nice lumpy idle. The transmission has a great grabbing point and no slipping. This car is an absolute delight to drive!. The interior is in excellent shape, no issues, no rips and so on (there is a tiny 1/2 inch tear on the dash, barely noticeable as its closer to the windshield. Beautiful upholstery, clean carpet and tight headliner. No rips and no cracks. The car has been gone through from front to back and needs nothing, it is 100% ready to go to a new home and enjoyed. This car runs and drives beautiful and again, its an absolute blast to drive. It floats down the road so nice. Super tight car, goes straight down the road, no rattles or shimmy's and it will brake straight without pulling side to side. No vibrations just a crazy fast and powerful car. The car has a 8 and 3/4 rear end with limited slip and 4:10 gears. I do have a brand new set of Richmond 3:23 gears I will throw in if full price is paid on the car. Tires and the wheels are like new. Finding a 70 Challenger with a 440 and pistol grip 4 speed is hard to find at this price, don't miss out on this gorgeous Mopar classic! 207-400-5326
