You are bidding on a 1941 Dodge WC-12 1/2 ton truck. This truck is a rust free eastern New Mexico service truck. It was used for many years as a service station tow truck. The engine is a 218 straight 6 that runs very smoothly. It fires on half a crank and does not smoke or leak. There is a tag on the head that states it was overhauled sometime in the 60's. I have the engine currently running off a little auxiliary tank due to the lift pump going out. The clutch doesn't slip and all the gears seem to work as they should. The steering is tight as well. The gauges and the lights work but the insulation has come off the wiring for some of the outside lights. The glass is complete but the passenger side windshield is badly cracked and the driver side door glass has a crack in it. The tires are 40+ years old but still hold air. The winch is a Mead Manufacturing winch and it too as well as the pto work as they should. The brakes do not work but I always use the parking brake since the truck never sees public roads. The brake system is complete but the seals went bad from age. The original owner strengthen the frame by welding plate steel over the frame rails. Frame is rigid with no visible welds. The transfer case and front diff were removed to make room for the pto. I believe it can be bolted back on and be a 4x4 again. I do not have those parts needed. Two sets of poles come with the truck, he ones pictures on the truck and a smaller set that was used to tow cars. Please feel free to ask questions. I can assist with shipping. Serious bidders only.
