Car description |
---|
For sale is this beautiful, completely original 1973 DeTomaso Pantera with just 39,200 miles. The thrilling product of Italian design and American muscle, this two-owner car has been exceptionally well maintained to the highest standard with comprehensive ownership and service records and is an unrestored original.
An excellent finish is retained in red paint over a completely straight, rust free body with excellent shut lines. The correct Ford 351 Cleveland V8 engine, 5-speed ZF transaxle, suspension and other chassis components are all exceptionally clean underneath. Windshield, side windows and back glass are all in excellent condition, as are the car's Campagnolo wheels. The interior is stock, the only exception being an aftermarket replacement ammeter. Even the radio is stock, and seats, console and headliner are all in very good or excellent condition.
This car was impeccably maintained for 40 years by one loving owner with regular service and both Ford-recommended and common-sense upgrades to enhance the safety, reliability, driveability and longevity of a classic. These include rustproofing, improvements to the cooling system, an engine rebuild with high performance Ford parts, new clutch, brake rebuild, etc.
For too long these cars were undervalued, but they are appreciating rapidly as the market begins to treat them like the Ferrari and Maserati contemporaries that they are. Comparable cars are regularly trading in the six-figures; this is a chance to own a low-mileage, unmolested copy before they become out of reach.
