Car description |
---|
The exterior is a sharp cherry red with clear coat that shines brightly and has very few imperfections. This Scarab conversion sits on four nearly brand new P235/60R14 radial tires.
The interior is in excellent condition. The dash is like new with no cracks. The seats are black cloth designed by Paddy Hopkirk (a rally driver from Northern Ireland). The gauges appear to be correct but all are not fully functioning. After market gauges are under the dash. The fuel gauge needs work. There is an after market radio in the glove box. The Muncie 4 speed was recently removed and repaired. The shifter is stiff as a result until used more often.
I have owned the car for the past two years and have spent a ton of money on the engine, ooling system, tarter, nd electrical wiring. It runs very strong with excellent oil pressure (60 lbs). Steering is very quick and the suspension is stiff. I am 67 years old and this car is just too much for me. It gets alot of looks and people are constantly asking about it.
What the car still needs is probably a new fuel sending unit and new exhaust pipes. The pipes function properly but the car would look better with new ones. I would also replace the seat covers as the current ones are hot in the summer (made from a tweed material). Once again, want to stress that this is a rust free car. That is very important for a 40 year old car.
