Selling my 1974 Datsun Z project. This is a project, but it's a solid start! Titled as a 1974 but the dash looks more like a 240z. The build date is 3/74.
I bought this to restore into a street - track car. It's a solid foundation and tough to find them in good shape these days.
Here are the details and things to know:
It's located in Blacksburg VA 24060 and I can tow to you for a fee if you're not too far. CAR CANNOT BE DRIVEN CURRENTLY since there is no gas tank/fuel cell.
Has 2.6 and 4 spd manual transmission that ran and shifted well before I parked it last year. Timing chain was replaced right before I bought it. It's been garaged or parked under a cover at all times. Comes with two car covers as well ($300 value). One has a small rip in it so the company warrantied it and so I have a new one in the box.
The previous owner began to strip it down. They put some weird wiring in it and fuel cell. I removed the fuel cell because I wasn't going to run one and it was a cheap knockoff so I was going to install a fuel tank and patch the trunk (see pic). There is a hole in trunk where cell was.
The car has one driver's seat and no passenger seat (was pretty beat up and I was going to replace seats anyway).
Body is pretty solid with surface rust on places, but no rot that I can see. Rockers look good, floor boards don't have any holes. Roof has surface rust but all of this can be grinded off easily doing body work. I also have brand window windshield trim that comes with it to replace the dry rotted rubber thats on there now.
Doors do have rust holes in the bottom. I have THREE replacement doors that come with the car (super value there just in the doors themselves). One is a proper door for the car, the other set I believe is from a 280 and I got the set to cut off the outer door skin and replace whats on the car now. Came as a set and doors are pretty expensive to find in good shape. All three replacement doors are solid!
Also comes with 6 fender flares (different sizes) so you can choose what you want, if you want to run them. I was going to RB swap this and I also have an RB25DET motor, transmission, and ECU I'm selling if the seller wants that as well, we can work out a deal for that too.
My plans have changed so I have to sell it and make room. Wife's orders.
Please let me know any questions you have.
