1977 Datsun (Nissan) 280z 4 speed manual
I hate to get rid of this car, and honestly I don't have to. I'm not in need of money. I am looking to sell it because I don't have the room for it, nor do I have the time to drive it like I want to. It's a fully restored show car, and my intentions from the beginning was to have a fun weekend car, and I took it too far. It's to the point where I have debated buying a trailer just to take it to car shows. I've driven the car less than 500 miles since I've Owned it. It's 100% rust free and it garage kept and will continue to be that way until it is sold. I have a several hundred dollar car cover that will also be included.
For the car itself:
Exterior:
It's a 1977 model and mostly stock.
It's got a fresh paint job, that was just finished December of this year.
Frenched in bumper deletes
Upgraded jeep 7" LED headlights
Underside coated with truck bedliner
Custom grill
280zx Z wheels
Tires with less than 200 miles on them
Cars & Concepts removable sunroof
Louvers
Fresh weatherseals all around
YOM license plate
Brand new brakes. New pads, calipers and rotors in the front, new drums, springs, shoes, pads in the back.
The titled Mileage/odo is ~150k
Interior:
When the car was in the paint shop, the interior was entirely removed, and all parts cleaned.
Dash is cracked but has been repaired, and has a dash cover
Brand new leather seats with 280z embroidery
Heating elements in the seats
New Boss soundsystem (2 in doors, 2 6x9 in rear) and a Pioneer headunit
Carpet is older, but was removed and washed.
When everything was out the inside of the car was coated with rubberized coating (like a flex seal) to help prevent rust
7mm sound deadening throughout
A/C in working condition (R12)
Stock shifter
White gauge faces with blue LED's
All interior lights replaced with newer style LED's, either hot white or blue.
Motor:
Stock L28 painted hammered black with blue accents
Upgraded coil (still have stock one somewhere)
Some new parts, like a newer vac canister, plugs, wires, distributer, hoses throughout, master cylinder, clutch slave, all new connectors, battery, etc.
brand new alternator (updgraded 65amp? From a 280zx)
everything that wasn't replaced has been thoroughly cleaned /painted.
Motor has been taken apart and checked down to the head, new gaskets installed from the exhaust manifold up. The head also appears to be newer, but I bought it like it is. New manifold studs and nuts
Like I said before, working A/C
Exhaust is stock, no muffler but has a glasspack and tip on it. Sounds good
Engine oil was changed at some point last year. It only has ~300 miles on it but I do plan on changing it if nobody buys it soon.
It is a 4 speed manual. Clutch feels good, Trans feels great. None of the interior components of trans has been changed, nor has the clutch, but it still grabs good.
What needs fixed:
While very little there is still a few things I haven't fixed yet on the car.
I wanted the windows tinted, this is a personal preference but if I keep the car much longer it will be done.
The hood has a small scratch on it, again, I have repair paint and I am planning on fixing it this weekend.
Needs tweeters installed in the doors. I haven't found a set I liked yet. The wiring is already there, they just need to be purchased and screwed into place.
The temp on the stock air (not ac) only goes about halfway to hot. I never really cared about this but I think the cable is getting caught against something.
Clock doesn't work, it's set on 5. It's 5 o'clock somewhere.
There's a couple of small spots on the glass that in my mind aren't worth looking into spending the insane amount on a perfect windshield.
Ebrake doesn't work. Something needs tightened under the car I believe.
Nearly everything about this car is immaculate. The paint is stunning in person. Accented with black makes it all the better. I honestly hate to see it go, as this was a personal restoration and I spent more time and money than I'd like to admit, but I'm ready to start a new project and see this one go to a home where someone can enjoy it more than I can.
For reference I added pictures of the car when I bought it. I have a binder absolutely full of service history and receipts for the car. Feel free to ask any questions.
