1967 1/2 Datsun 1600 Roadster-Long, Long Time Sitter-Solid Rustfree Project

Well, it is about a million degrees here in Arizona this week. So before I pull this car into a million pieces and list everything here on eBay, I will see if anybody is up for a neat restoration project first. And save me from sweating my butt off. At least for another week. This is a 1967 1/2 Datsun 1600 Roadster. Pretty low production number car. This one has sat in the Southern California Desert for a very, very long time. I got in a package deal with other long time sitters. Got it back here to Arizona. Checked the fluids, turned the engine by hand. Put a hot battery to it. Did a compression check and came up with 135-145 psi., Ran some gas from a can to the carbs and it fired up. Runs smoothly, no smoke, no rattles or other noises. Shut it down. Compression will probably go up with more run time. This car needs to be gone thru, top to bottom. You can not drive it home.Well, you can not drive it anywhere now. Rolls well, though. Fairly new tires all around. This car is probably as rustfree as possible to find these days. Excellen, solid floors, rockers,lower sheetmetal. .Soft top frame included but no soft top. Has a very old, very sun damaged hardtop.This car was hit sometime in the past in the rear. Repaired but not done show quality. Rear cross frame support behind rear spring mounts was cut, straightened and welded back. And the rear top of rear fenders where lights mount were poorly repaired. the rear right mount for trailing arm is broken and needs to be welded. So that has to be dealt with. I have frames and rear clips if needed but should not benecessary . Thecar was originally light yellow. The engine looks to of been replaced as it does not match the chassis plate number. Plate shows R57921 while the engine pad number shows R58431.This car needs work. It has damage. It has dents. It is a total project. But is a 67 1/2. It has most everything original. Including the antenna, locking gas cap, keys in the ignition. That work the rear trunk. Black trim ring gauges. Tach needle is broken. Original hupcaps, factory steering wheel. Even has the original jack point plugs.This car has a lot of issues, but it has a lot going for it. Rustfree as can be. Mostly original, strong drivetrain.I travel around the West Coast with my truck and trailer and might be able to get it to you or close. And can arrange trucking to Long Beach California shippers for overseas buyers for $300. Clean straight title.
