Car description

Hello and thank you for looking!
Up for sale is a quite rare, Greek made Automeccanica Daihatsu G10 Zebra. Ladybug red, with tan interior and matching vinyl roof.
A light passenger utility vehicle ('mini SUV' by current standards), produced in Greece by Automeccanica (which assembled the Charade in Greece under license), produced between 1981-1985. About 2000 units were originally produced. This example is among the very few last known survivors. (about 22 running examples still exist in Greece).
The Zebra's body was designed and developed in Greece independently from Daihatsu, although it gained approval for Daihatsu to share the G10 chassis, engine, grille, and carry the Daihatsu badge. It shares the G10 993 cc in line 3 cylinder engine, dashboard and steering wheel and is FWD, and has the G10 5-speed manual transmission.
The Zebra offered today, belongs to the original owner, who purchased this car new in 1986. It has about 83500 original kilometeres since new, since it was kept aside as a summer car. During its' lifetime so far, it has gone through a restoration in 2008, where it was repainted its' matching original Daihatsu 'Ladybug' red, the interior was refurbished to a lighter tan (original was a much darker shade of brown), and the top was also reconstructed from vinyl by a professional craftsman.During the same era, the engine underwent through a detailed 'nut & bolt' restoration, with only original NOS parts being used in the process.
The current state of the vehicle, is perfectly running, everything has been as close to its' original specifications as possible, with no alterations being made whatsoever. The body has some slight surface rust along the wheels archs (however the wheel wells are free from rust), and some slight deterioration is also evident along the base body panels (beneath the doors). Right side door also shows some deterioration on its' passenger side view mirror housing.
Other than these issues addressed, the car holds up wellcosmetically, since everything is in place and functioning. All body panels are straight and rigid, firmly in place. The vinyl top is in wonderful condition, and all trimming remains very clean and shiny.
As for the interior, the dashboard is straight, (there's just a very minor crack right beside the speaker, top side) and the driver's right side ventilation grille doesn't sit in place. Furthermore, the lower dashboard panel (which originally houses the ashtray and radio) is missing. The front and rear seating upholsteries are intact and in very good shape, while the side upholstery panels show wear, and need to be replaced, and so does the interior carpeting.
Regarding the mechanical condition of the car, it is free of issues, as everything is perfectly functional, engine runs smoothly and grears change properly. All electrical functions and utilities perform as originally intended to work.
Steering is perfectly aligned, and brakes perform smoothly and evenly (disc brakes on front, brake drums on rear axle). Tires would need to be replaced though. This example was properly serviced by an experienced Daihatsu mechanic, whenever needed.
No accident history, whatsoever.
Overall, this example is definitely among the very few surviving examples -as originally mentioned- and one of the handful (if they even exist) in such a wonderful condition. It's an extremely rare, officially licensed regionally produced Daihatsu model (not a kit car, by any means), wonderfully preserved and serves as a worthy base of a decent restoration.
Last-but definitely not least- a respectable amount of stock parts (spare engine, rims & tires, radiator grille, carbs, steering wheel, speedometer, among them) will be provided along with the car, to the buyer.
All further questions are more than welcome, as well as requests for more pictures will be granted. The car is located in Marathonas, Attica region about 35 km. away from Athens, Greece. The car is available for inspection, upon request.
Regarding transport, local pickup is mainly offered, however, depending on the buyer's location, all necessary assistance for transportationwill be provided. Don't hesitate to ask any questions regarding this issue.
A very rare and unique model; not to be easily found again in any condition. Don't miss out on this chance.
Thank you
