Car description |
---|
Just like the B-52's song says "This Chrysler is as big as a whale!"
One family owned since new, from a large summer estate up here in northern Maine. It was their family cruiser when they all came up for the summer.
Car is just out of storage where it had been gathering dust for about the last twenty years.
The family had a year round caretaker that lived onsite& he would run the car a few times a year& run it up& down the road to "stretch her legs, blow out the carbon& get her some fresh gas." He also kept it clear of mice with mothballs & I think I found them all & am in the process of getting that smell out.Car still has its last inspection sticker from 2001.
Condition: As Pictured, See more than 100 close up photos& an eight minute walk around video below.
Overall great condition, barely turn the key and starts right up!
Cruises smoothly at all speeds inc highway speeds 60-65.
Car is still stored inside.
Exterior : Some dents& dings.
Vinyl top has a number of rips. Paint still has some fading in areas but still a lot of shine& bright metallic flake.
Looks to have some older body work on the rear fender. As for rust there is 1 spot over the right rear wheel otherwise it's just surface rust including the frame, floor& trunk.
Tires are newer radials with plenty of tread
Interior: Overall good condition!
Fuel gauge does not work & the brake light is on.
Engine& Drivetrain:
Drives& shifts very smoothly.
At start up it has a low idle& stalls out without giving it gas
Suspension is stiff& the car glides right over any bumps in the road.
Power steering is tight& responsive.
There is an exhaust leak by the muffler.Fan belt randomly squeals when it starts up.Be realistic when looking at any car esp. when its almost 50 years old,
to make it a safe daily driver you'll want to go thru all the systems ie: brakes, fuel etc
