Car description |
---|
Wonderful early Chrysler muscle car. This is one of the legendary Chrysler letter series cars. This one is from 1961 making it a 300G.
This one-year-only model was specially ordered from the factory with exceptionally rare and sought after options including air conditioning and special order 'Code 888' black interior, one of an estimated 20 built as equipped.
This car is a well known car and comes with its original IBM build card. Just about all Chryslers from the era have lost their IBM card over time. The club is able to provide a copy from microfiche, this car has its original card.
The car was a west coast car through much of its life. An old registration from the mid 1970's is with the car. It was sold to a Texas collector within the last five years who, due to health issues, is making it available for the first time.
The car is a rust free car that was restored many years ago. It still presents beautifully but shows signs of enjoyment. The interior is nearly mint in appearance but the paint and chrome show signs of use.
The car is powered by its original 413 dual quad V-8 engine putting out a conservatively rated 375 horsepower. The transmission shifts smoothly and the brakes are firm and true.
The car comes with a few extra parts, original owners manual, the IBM build card as well as the old registration.
It is well known by the club and has unquestioned provenance.
While not a show car, it is most certainly a 'go' car as it is fully sorted, has been serviced by the expert technicians at Blackhorse and runs and drives exceptionally reliably.
1280 were built and approximately 20% got factory air conditioning. Only a handful got a special order interior and this car has both!
We have dozens of additional pictures and inspections are both welcome and encouraged.
