Thank you for choosing Southlake Motorcars one of the nation’s most recognized and fastest growing ultra-luxury/highline automotive companies. It is with great pleasure that we have the opportunity to offer the 1967 Chevrolet Camaro Convertible with LS1 and T56.CLASSIC CHEVROLET CAMARO!! ONE OF A KIND!! MINT CONDITION!!
Body and Paint:
Absolutely no rust in this car. All new sheet metal. The bodywork and paint was done by KC Mathieu of KC's Paint Shop in Burleson Texas. KC is famous for his role as the resident painter at Richard Rawlings' Gas Monkey Garage in Dallas Texas featured on the Discovery Channel's hit TV show Fast N' Loud. This car was painted at KC's personal paint shop. The paint color is a GM factory color Nassau Blue (Bright Blue) which was available on Corvettes from 1997 to 2000. Paint code B9773. KC smoothed the firewall eliminating all unnecessary holes and strangely enough. A smooth firewall makes for such a clean look compared to a factory firewall. The entire bottom-side of the new one-piece floor pan was seam sealed and coated in semi-gloss black POR-15 rust preventative coating as well as the rear frame rails and wheel wells. The bottom of this car is exactly what you want to see when peeking under a classic car that you are considering for purchase.
Engine and Transmission:
The mildly cammed LS1 power plant and Tremec T56 6-speed manual transmission for this project were harvested together from a 2002 Trans Am WS6. The actual mileage was 69785 at the time it was pulled and less than 500 flawless miles have been added since installation into the Camaro. If originality is not a concern then there's no question that LS power is the way to go. These engines are notorious for their dependability and horsepower potential. Every hot rod owner loves the cool timeless looks of a classic car but nobody wants to worry about being left stranded on the side of the road because of half-century-old technology under the hood. Get in this car bump the key and go...anywhere.
Interior:
The entire interior side of the one-piece floor plan and firewall was sprayed in Lizard Skin products for both heat and sound insulation. All new black 80/20 loop carpet from PUI Interiors was then laid down. The original GM dash-pad was re-covered by Al Knoch Interiors in Canutillo Texas. The front seats were upgraded to 4th Gen Camaro seats (power driver seat) the rear seat is stock and all were covered in beautiful new black and white houndstooth seat covers from Year One. All new Metro weatherstrip seals everywhere. The convertible top is also brand new by Robbins. Chrome Hurst shifter.
Suspension:
The sub-frame was removed sandblasted and powder-coated in semi-gloss black. All new body bushings. All new front suspension components. Lowered coil springs in the front and Hotchkis 1.5" drop leaf springs in the rear with all new bushings. 8.5 10-bolt rear end with 3.42 posi differential. New custom drive shaft. Power disc brakes up front and rebuilt drums in the rear with all new components and new brake lines. Functioning emergency brake with all new components. Upgraded fast ratio power steering box. The wheels are Boyd Coddington Junk Yard Dogs Front: 17x8 and Rear: 18x9
Misc:
Magnaflow dual 2.5" stainless exhaust system (this car sounds amazing). All new American Autowire wiring harness (no electrical gremlins to chase) PSI Conversion engine harness for the LS swap. The "New Vintage USA" electric gauges beautifully and accurately display everything you need to see. New fuel lines. New fuel tank with internal fuel pump and sending unit. The new I-DID-IT tilt steering column was painted the body color by KC. New Grant steering wheel. We have documents and receipts for everything that was done on the car!
