After many years of very little use I am selling this truck so somebody else can enjoy it. I do love the truck and its history but it is not comfortable for me to drive and I just don't have the time or space to enjoy it.It is technically a two owner vehicle but I listed it as one owner since it passed from my father to myself. My father ordered this truck in August of 1968 and took delivery on Dec.27th of the same year. I have the paper work from the sale which was from Grant Chevrolet of Puyallup Washington. I also have a lot of paper work on the truck including the protecto plate still attached to its original card. There is also the owners manual still sealed in its original envelope. In the mid 1990's my father gave me the truck which was at the time still all original but needed a paint job. I chose to change the paint from its original silver to its current charcoal metallic to match a 1991 ZR1 Corvette I had at the time. I also removed the wood grained vinyl from the aluminum trim. The original interior was green most of it remains but I did have the seats redone in charcoal cloth. The current paint code is 96U and I tried in the photos to show its true color but it is kind of hard to photograph well. I friend with painting experience did the job with my help. We used the paint booth at one of our local community colleges. It turned out very nicely I think but I am admittedly still partial to this color. After 15 or so years it still looks good but as seen in a photo there is a little blistering on the drivers lower door. There is also some rust on the underside of the truck in what I understand is the common places for these trucks. Mechanically the truck runs and drives well. There is a small exhaust leak on what I think is the left exhaust manifold possibly where the manifold enters the exhaust system. I also saw that one of the front sway bar bushings is starting to break down and should be replaced. The passenger side sun visor's stitching has deteriorated as well and will need to be redone.I replaced the brakes not long ago (in miles) so they are good now as good as drum brakes can be anyway. My father always took good care of his trucks and serviced them regularly. The truck as been stored indoors since I have had it and did the upgrades approximately the last 20 years. On Oct. 11 1969 when the truck had 7679 miles the engine had a problem and was replaced on warranty. I understand that in the years shortly thereafter a rock bounced off the road and broke the front grill. It was replaced with the current years grill not the 1969 version. After I received the truck I noticed the transmission (Turbo 400) was leaking even though it was working no issues at all. I priced getting all the seals replaced but opted instead for putting in a freshly rebuilt Turbo 400. Shortly after having it replaced the speedometer stopped working and I have never investigated why but I suspect it has something to do with the speedo gear on the transmission or the cable. This also means that the mileage is not correct but I do know that I have not put on more than 10000 miles in the time I have had it.Also included are the original steel wheels which are painted to match the truck and their hubcaps. The mounted tires on the original wheels are not road worthy.Interested parties and welcome to send a message and acquire my phone number I will do my best to answer any questions by phone or by message. If I don't know the answer I will check with my father as he still remembers almost everything about this his favorite truck. The truck is also available for inspection by interested bidders or their agents in Graham WA with advanced appointment.I will be happy to assist the winning bidder with delivery to any transport company within 25 miles of zip code 98338. The truck is nice and gets compliments when driven but it is not perfect. While it could be showed and enjoyed at a car show I would not call it a show car. It is however a nice driver an original 396 truck and has the potential to be whatever someone wants it to be. Happy Bidding!JOHN
