Who didn't want one of these trucks, lifted and sitting tall, back when they were new? Well, it's time to relive the past with this 1984 Chevy K10 Restomod pickup, which has obviously enjoyed a rather significant makeover. With in-your-face looks and go-anywhere capabilities thanks to a big block LSX motor under the hood, it's big red fun on or off the pavement.
Red is the quintessential pickup truck color, regardless of age, and this awesome Chevy wears it proudly with a white center section that gives this two-tone Square Body a timeless look we just can't stop drooling over. It was repainted not too long ago, and judging from the dialed-in details throughout and the hard-to-reach areas of the body, you can tell that it was finished by professionals that were paid well for the job. You can't argue with how good it looks on the clean, chiseled lines of the K10 and the finish quality is on-par with the build quality of the rest of the truck. It's shiny, well-applied, and covering some straight sheetmetal, but at the same time, it's not so flawless that you're afraid to use this truck to its full potential. There's lots of shiny trim to accentuate that glossy black finish, including the factory stainless moldings on the sides of the body, the aluminum panel on the tailgate, and all the original badging that's still in place. There's a big factory grille up front, a stock hood, and an original tailgate for the bed out back. And speaking of the bed, look how darn straight it is, showing off paint that matches the exterior truck. But just in case you want to haul, say, your collection of bowling balls or a grizzly bear, we'd recommend a spray-in bedliner to preserve that straight sheetmetal further.
The burgundy/dark red interior is largely stock and for 1984, you'll be impressed by the luxury accommodations from the era. The wide bench seat wears a more recent factory-style cover that's in great shape, and we're pretty sure that the door panels, dash pad, and even the carpets were replaced at some point, although they're all NOS spec components, so they could easily be well-preserved originals. Bright trim dresses up the dash and the original gauges were swapped in favor of sportier Dakota Digital units in the factory pods. This truck offers a lot of power accessories, including power windows and locks, R134a A/C, and a tilt steering column, so it's hardly a vintage-feeling from behind the wheel. A newer retro-style AM/FM/AUX stereo lives in the dash, and the big factory steering wheel is protected with a leather cover that feels great in the hands of any driver. Bottom line, this cabin is still a great place to spend some time.
The condition of the engine bay suggests that while this truck looks off-road ready, it hasn't spent much time there. The 454 cubic inch LSX V8 is fuel injected, so it starts easily and runs great, and can handle the rigors of everyday driving just as well as it can climb up a mountain. Performance parts include LSX valve covers and a matching intake cover, a serpentine belt drive system for the accessories, 254 aluminum heads, and a growling Flowmaster H-pipe dual exhaust system below. The A/C system looks recent and there's a giant radiator up front, so no worries about the slow going in the rough. Anchored by a sturdy 4L60E 4-speed automatic transmission and 2-speed transfer case, the driveline is tough enough to handle just about anything. While you're under there, check out the modest lift kit with Rough Country shocks at each corner, an upgraded steering stabilizer, and heavy-duty axles that show signs of recent work. Of course, a truck like this wouldn't be possible without power steering and power front disc brakes, so despite its size it's relatively easy to maneuver in traffic. Great-looking Rally wheels suite the truck's personality and carry mammoth 33x12.5x15 all-terrain radials that look like they'll climb a wall.
A very cool truck with big modifications and a classic look. With a great deal of recent service work, it's totally sorted and ready to enjoy. Call today!
