SURVIVOR BARN FIND !
On September 18, 1976 ... in the year of the American Bicentennial, Pearl Holcomb walked into Kent Brown Chevrolet in Topeka, Kansas and purchased a 1976 Chevrolet C10 Custom Deluxe in Frost White with Red Plaid Interior. Pearland her husband have/had a farm in Topeka, KS for decades and they needed a reliable base Chevrolet Farm Truck. Pearl's husband asked her to buy a truck with basically "NO" options. She bought the most straight forward non-optioned C10 truck they had. The only option she allowed was the deluxe interior and "heavy duty suspension". This is that truck. Since that day, this truck has only been driven 17,933 miles. For most of it's life it has been serviced only at the Chevrolet Dealer. Mr. Holcomb passed about 15 years ago in his 80's and the truck has mostly sat in the barn. The picturesyou see here are the first time it's really been out and about in 15 years. In order to be driven, it needed a new brake line. The new brake line was installed and gas was filled up and she drove like a top. The truck was driven today from Topeka to Kansas City without a hitch. It drives like a 17k mile vehicle should. It sounds like a sewing machine and drove the hour long drive wonderfully. Amazing how simple machines are just that ... "simple" with nothing that breaks ... an amazing mechanical beast ... so nice to drive ... nothing worn anywhere. The truck shows some surface rust in the pictures ... Nothing is perforatedthat I have seen and much of it will clean off. It may need to be repainted to be a "10" ... Currently it's original. I will let the new owner decide on what he wants to do with her. Never Wrecked and never altered ...
This 1976 Chevrolet C10 fleetside pickup, is powered by a 250ci 6-cylinder engine and a 3-speed manual transmission. This truck is all-original, well-maintained and stored indoors, and comes with full documentation, registrations in the state of Kansas, dealer arrival paperwork, warranty pamphlets and original Protect-O-Plate booklet without card. Untouched and all-original, this truck is an absolute time capsule and great for any collection or is a wonderful driver just like it is.
This truck has been pictured exactly as harvested from the barn. It is not washed or cleaned or touched in any way. No detailing has occurred or cleaning. These pictures lend to its "as found" condition.
... just for clarification ... this truck has been started and maintained well even though it sat in the barn ... it was used to drive a very very small amount on the farm to fill diesel tractors ... the diesel fuel tank in the bed does not come with the truck and the tires are excellent ... so even though it hasn't had any miles to speak of in 15 year, it has been started and maintained ... it also has it's original jack behind the seat and has its original spare with original tire on the spare wheel ...
Being SOLD to the highest bidder :-)Good Luck ... It's going to make someone extremely proud ...
