This 1966 Chevrolet Impala has been restored with vibrant red paint, a nice bucket seat interior, and the right flair to show off the hardtop profile. But what really is going to make you fall in love/lust is this sleek machine also has a dual-quad big block under the hood and all the right components backing it up.
While a full-size vintage coupe is always a great idea, this one seems to do it better than most. The '66 Impalas were part of a new era that made them longer, lower, and sleeker. Plus, the crisp lines with a "kick up" behind the rear door makes this downright sporty. The factory-correct Regal Red paint seems to capture this attitude nicely by offering a higher degree of gloss and shine with the modern application. It's part of a restoration that the consignor states was done less than 3,000 miles ago, and the overall fresh feeling of this Impala backs that up. You see this quality in the total appearance, right down to the brightwork on the wraparound chrome bumpers, full-width grille, and upgraded American Racing Torq Thrust polished wheels.
You can tell they also invested nicely in the black interior. The seats have the look of new, and they are correct, right down to the Insignia rim. There are sporty bucket seats up front, and they have a low-back presentation to give this pillarless hardtop a terrific uncluttered profile when all the windows are down. The whole presentation proves this is a fine place to spend some time. And that's a good thing, considering the full-size Impala has plenty of room to carry five total in comfort. There's even an AM/FM stereo w/CD changer for upgraded driving music. But the best features are reserved just for the driver. You get a grippy Grant sports steering wheel, auxiliary gauges mounted under the dash, and a large column-mounted Sun Super Tach. That last one can be particularly handy with the upgraded Hurst dual-gate shifter.
You're going to love lifting the hood and showing off this big block power. After all, it's a tidy setup showcasing the dual air toppers that are an instant indicator of two four-barrel carburetors on top. And you're going to love this one for far more than just dual-quad power. This 396 cubic-inch V8 has been bored .40 over, and it has been enhanced and fortified further with solid lifters, roller rockers, and a Comp Cams camshaft. This mighty V8 is supported by the right components, like an MSD ignition and an aluminum radiator w/electric fan. The stout TH400 three-speed automatic transmission has a shift kit for to maximize the powerband, and this feeds a 12-bolt Positraction rear end with 3.55 gears for all-around confident driving. And speaking of confidence, this one feels solid on the road thanks to new suspension components, including the boxed rear arms with sway bar. Add in power steering and power brakes w/discs up front, and this powerful Impala is also a great all-around cruiser.
This is a bold red hardtop with the power to back up its sleek look. That makes for an awesome classic you need to get your hand on right now. Call today!!!
