Car description |

This 1979 Chevrolet Malibu has a performance crate motor, overdrive transmission, four-wheel disc brakes, a sweet stereo, and a nice two-tone look inside and out. So as you dig deeper, you'll see that this one does an awesome job of mixing a hint of sleeper appearance and traditional good looks to deliver one appealing total package.
The chiseled good looks of this GM intermediates have aged rather well. A big key to this one's attractiveness are the right investments. The dark brown paint with light brown half-vinyl roof gives this a classic look with modern appeal. And with the pinstripes and rub strips matching the roof, this is a nicely detailed coupe. Plus, they nicely integrated some signs that this one was upgraded for performance, including wide dual exhaust tips, classic Corvette-style Rally wheels, and the power bulge of the cowl induction hood. So the total impression of this one is fast with class.
Inside is more of that cool-looking two-tone brown. The details here were important, and you see it in places like the textured inserts on the door panels and the piping that matches the seat insert. This is as comfy as a proper Malibu should be, and there's even R134a air conditioning (will need a recharge). But this is a true street machine, and so the stereo was upgraded to really bring attention to this coupe. That's why you not only have a Pioneer AM/FM/CD/DVD head unit with fold out screen and Bluetooth, but also this connects to an upgraded speaker system with dual Kicker Solo-Baric L7 15-inch subwoofers.
Under the hood is quite a powerful package. The consignor states that the 350 cubic-inch crate V8 is a fresh addition, and the tidy setup reaffirms it. These are always powerful right out of the box, and this one also has go-fast goodies like AFR aluminum heads, a mild cam, and Edelbrock intake. It inhales deeply with a Holley four-barrel carburetor, and it exhales with authority as Patriot headers add power while feeding the dual exhaust. There are also the right supporting components, like a serpentine belt system, HEI ignition, and a Champion aluminum radiator w/dual electric fans. The 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission is both stout and versatile, and the same goes for the 3.73 Positraction rear end. And the power steering and four-wheel power disc brakes are great for all driving conditions.
This generation Malibu is especially loved by the performance community because it mixes a smaller/lightweight design with a rear wheel drive setup. So to find one that really maximizes the performance and also has a terrific look creates one attractive total package. Call today!!!
