1980 Chevrolet Corvette – Black on Black 4 Speed - 350 cu. In. 4 Barrel. Air Conditioning, Power Steering, Power Brakes, Power Windows, Tilt and Telescoping Steering Column. 70,941 actual miles. I bought this car for my wife in 2010. The person I bought the car from says it belonged to Ben Orr, Bass Guitar player for the Cars. Supposedly, it was purchased out of his estate when he passed away from cancer. I have no way of verifying it. But it does make for a good story. Especially for a wife who is a music nut. Anyway, back to the car. The car runs and drives great, I’d drive it anywhere. Everything on it works including ice cold A/C. Being it is my Wife’s car, I made sure it was well maintained and reliable for her. The appearance and sound of the car is important to her, which is why it has the side pipes and wheels on it, she wanted them. The person I bought the car from did repaint it due to the paint fading as most 80’s GM cars did. The car has no signs of ever being wrecked, all original panels, bumpers, good seams, etc. The paint still looks great today as you can see in the pictures. I keep the paint touched up from the stone chips and such that you from driving it. It is not a show car, but you can be proud of it. Great for cruise-ins. The interior is original and looks good. I added the wood grain to the dash, too much black without it. Has the original strap to secure the T-Tops. The sliding cargo cover is intact. It does have an aftermarket radio that works great with upgraded speakers. Power antenna works. The cup holder and arm rest pad go with the car, along with a car cover we used while not driving the car. I included a picture of the car from when I bought it, so you can see it as original. I have all of the original parts I removed including the aluminum wheels and tires, full exhaust from manifolds to tailpipes, smog pump, air cleaner, etc. that goes with the car. The only reason we’re selling it, is my wife talked me into getting her a Slingshot. She thinks she’ll enjoy it more? The car spent most of its life in Georgia and is rust free (see photo of frame). It has been a summer only car for my wife. She’s put about 10,000 miles on it in the 10 years we’ve owned it. I tried to capture pictures of everything, if you want to see something specific, please let me know. I’ll do my best to get it for you.
It is a 40 year old car and as such, is being sold as-is, where-is, how-is. No warranties expressed or implied. There, the legal stuff is out of the way. We do have a clear, clean title that she will sign over when full payment is received.
I will not share the reserve or end the auction early. I do not feel that is fair to everyone interested.
I am not interested in any trades.
Buyer is responsible for all shipping/transportation/paperwork. I will provide the car as described wat my residence with a clear title signed over to the buyer. All other arrangements and costs are the responsibility of the buyer.
