Car description |
---|
This is a 1964 Chevy Malibu with 27,365 ORIGINAL MILES and 100% ORIGINAL PAINT. This car has absolutely no rust through, no holes, no patch panels, and NO BONDO. The floors, frame, trunk pan and all body panels are solid and original. What this car does have is plenty of original, respectable, surface rust, the worst being a spot on the rear deck where the previous owner left something sitting on it for a decade. There is no rust in any of the usual places, no rust around the windows, no rust in the fenders, no rust in the rockers, no rust in the bottom of the doors, no rust in the rear quarters – all solid metal everywhere.
It has a perfect condition original interior. There are no rips or splits or tears anywhere in the upholstery. The door panels are perfect. I did replace the headliner and carpet when I first bought the car. It has the Radio Delete option, and interestingly, even though it is a Malibu trim car, it has no outside mirrors. No holes on the doors, it just never had side mirrors. It has the mighty 194 cubic inch six cylinder with a more than adequate 120 horse power and Powerglide transmission. It starts right up, runs like a top, shifts, drives and stops perfectly. It is perfectly happy running 70 miles an hour with four people in it, but you won’t win many races.
I bought this car from the family of the original owner, have owned it myself for 12 years and put 3000 miles on it in that time. When I bought this car I had plans to repaint it and put a 327 in it. But the car is so original, and the little six runs so sweet, that I didn’t have the heart to mess with it. If you buy this car, and have plans to put a big block in it, or a TH400, or plan to put in a stereo and cut holes in the door panels – I understand, but please don’t tell me about it.
The mechanical work I have done on the car was mostly done 12 years ago and included new fuel tank, new exhaust, new fuel lines, new brakes and all of the normal tune up and fluid changes you would normally do.
Clear Transferable NY State Registration in my name.
