VERY RARE FACTORY AIR with a FACTORY CORRECT 4 Speed Shifter
This fabulous 57 was born at the St Louis
Chevrolet plant and lived almost its entire life in the Southern US of A. She is just LASER STRAIGHT with a great paint job. VERY SHINNY AND VERY FLAT. To complement her wonderful paint job and super straight body lines, her chrome and stainless are in remarkable condition ALMOST PERFECT!!!
She has what appears to be a very solid body. Her interior is GORGEOUS and shows just as well as the rest of her, she is JUST WONDERFUL!!!
While Chevrolet built a few factory 4 Speed cars in 57 I believe they came out in the spring of 57 and mine is Number 197056 (ST LOUIS PLANT) SO SHE WAS BUILT around early March of 57. NOT SAYING SHE IS THE REAL DEAL, BUT SHE COULD BE?? !!!
She has a great running fresh 350 small block that appears as a 283 Power Pac 4 barrel dual exhaust car. This car is DROP DEAD GORGEOUS INSIDE AND OUT AND SHE DRIVES AWESOME AND IS REALLY A RARE PIECE!!! Her front suspension is tight and she brakes great and straight. And she cruises down the road at 75mph perfectly.
There were only 27000 or 5% Bel Air 4 Door Wagons built in 57 out of a million and a half CHEVROLET'S!! That makes her a REAL COLLECTIBLE and a VERY GOOD LONG TERM INVESTMENT!!!!
You could look for years and not find a better conditioned 57 Bel Air 4 door wagon they just simply do not exist in this condition every day!!! And with FACTORY AIR that was a $430.00 option when the entire car cost $2600.00, that was the most expensive and the rarest of all of the options in 57!! It makes me wonder how many FACTORY AIR BEL AIR 4 DOOR WAGONS EVER EXISTED!!! PROBABLY A FEW HUNDRED AT BEST!!!
