Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a beautiful 1985 Chevrolet K20 Scottsdale in its original Indian Bronze and frost White finish. This truck is a California truck since new having been sold in 1985 at Central Chevrolet in Fremont, CA. What is cool about this truck is the originality; the original Indian Bronze paint shines beautifully after all these years, the interior hasn't been hacked up with useless aftermarket modifications. This truck has spent its entire life in the mild climate of northern California. If you take a step further from the originality this truck is a desirable optioned 4x4 rig. It is a heavier duty 3/4 ton model meaning a stronger frame, a Corporate 14 bolt rear axle with a dana 44 in the front, the truck has 4.10 rear end with a "G80" locking differential. It has a 4 bolt main heavy duty 350 cubic inch 5.7 liter v8 motor only optional in 3/4 ton models, a larger radiator and transmission cooler. These are all original stock options, this a real truck capable of any job you can throw at it. However it really hasn't been used as it was designed, this truck has spent most of its life as grandpas driver or parked in the garage. This truck still has both original California Blue Plates which is rare because they stopped issuing them shortly after this truck was new. Square bodyChevy and GMCs are not necessarilyhard to find however what it is rare it to find them in good condition that have not been beat and used then modified and beat some more. This is an example of a good honest survivor, trucks like this are hard to find and cannot be replaced very easy. You cannot just go out and find a 33 year old original truck that is in this condition. Especiallyone that comes in a rare color combo with desirable options.

[isdntekvideo] WHAT IS A SURVIVOR?Survivors differ from barn finds. (this Survivor is actually from a California'sGold country) They have usually been cared for andlast decades as a daily driver, or are carefully stored and maintained enough where you can start it with nothing more than a new battery.A survivor car may be in perfectcondition. It may have been kept undercover and only driven to town for weekly supplies. They usually have very low mileage and are often left in the most original state, with factory fitted accessories, original engine bay labels, and factory finished paint. The perfect survivor car is still owned by the first owner who might have log books, service history, receipts and even the original delivery docket.
1973-87 Chevy pickup trucks or "Squarebodies" have seen a steady increase in their values simply because they are starting to become harder to find in decent condition especially the 4x4 models. Various experts and publications alike have predicted the classic 4x4 truck market is the next big market to explode. The last few months Hagerty Insurance has listed the 73-87 C/K truck as the hottest vehicle right now to go and buy. The current market is proving that putting your money into a 4x4 truck is a good bet. Just like muscle cars a 10-15 years ago this rapid increase in demand due to dwindling supply has spawned many aftermarket parts companies to sell aftermarket replacement parts for these American trucks. While aftermarket parts can look like the original they are usually far from it, they are always made of inferior materials usually from Asia that either break or don't line up like originals and most certainly will not last as long as the original. It also doesn't sound right rebuilding an American classic with Asian parts and at what point does that American made truck become Asian made. This 4x4 Squarebody truck is true to its roots original and 100% American made. Rememberthey are only original once and the ones that maintain their originality will always hold their value over the ones that haven't.Cosmetically this truck is great condition especially for 33 years old. The body is very straight and has had no bodywork anywhere. The 2 tone Indian Bronze and Frost White paint shine beautifully and pair well with each other on this classic square body. The Indian Bronze is a unique color that can look very dark at times but if you look close in the paint, it has an almost reddish and gold metallic hue that come out in direct sunlight. It is 33 year old General Motors paint so there is a few spots where it has peeled off on the hood and a little on the roof. This truck has had a bed liner and camper shell on it almost its entire life, this means the bed has been protected and looks remarkable. The paint is still shiny in bed. The original Scottsdale moldings are still in place, they are also a unique style that is hard to replace because aftermarket companies only supply the solid polished moldings similar to what the Silverado trucks had. More evidence of its originality is the rock chip guards still in place located in front of the rear wheels. Nothing has been removed or replaced all the trim, bumpers, lights are original. The original white steel wheels and center caps make this truck look perfect. The underneath is very solid and hasn't been exposed to harsh environments so there is no rust problems. There is still the factory installed spray liner that has also protected the underneath from the elements.
Inside this truck matches the exterior with its originality and overall well kept condition. The Scottsdale interior finished in Mahogany looks just right with the exterior color combo. The door panels and dash are in great shape. The seat is original and has no rips or tears in it which again is another testament to how this truck was treated and kept. Everything is functional from the lights, horn, signals, fans heater and radio. The factory AC does not blow cold. The stock stereo has been replaced with an aftermarket unit with a CD and Aux capabilities which work well. The original flooring looks great as well as the pedals.
Mechanically this truck is in good working order. It runs good and shifts in all gears as well as reverse. Four wheel drive works, combine that with the heavy duty axles and gear ratio this truck can preform well off road and is more than capable of anything you can throw at it. All the lights are in working order. This truck drives down the road straight and has no issues with soft steering. As I mentioned earlier this was grandpas personal truck and was maintained and well kept all its life. Also, being that it is a 3/4 ton and has the better equipment then a half ton making it a more solid, capable and dependable of a truck.
***What you see is what you get I have included over 100 photos and video of this truck, if you have a request for additional photos please let me know. Please ONLY BID with intention of owning this truck. I will be making contact with high bidders before the auction ends to ensure all questions and concerns are answered. ***
Hagerty Classic Car Insurance, the leader in insuring classic vehicles also making them a leader in knowing classic car values. Has recently issued in their February 2018 issue that the 73-87 Chevy C/K truck is the HOTTEST vehicle right now and the best bet to invest your money into because they are rising in values faster than any other classic car/truck. I cannot included these links however please ask me and I can provide several interesting articles about how these squarbodies are the most popular among collectors and enthusiast alike.
Don't miss out on this rare find
They are only original once. It would be difficult to replace this 85 k20 with original paint in actuality it is difficult to find any car or truck especially a General Motors product much less a 4 wheel drive truck with 33 year old paint. That is fact. Original paint is original paint it's impossible to duplicate because trucks were purchased for work and over a period of years common sense dictates that by this age most are worn out especially 4 wheel drives that had a more limited production geared to people who needed 4 wheel drive in 1985 (unlike today) typically in snow country where rust is an issue that is not the case with this vehicle.
In reality anybody can piece together an old Square Body truck with cheap Taiwanese and Chinese reproduction parts bought on the internet .Those reproduction body, trim, interior parts are in my opinion all of an inferior quality than what was originally made by General Motors To me it seems crazy to bring an American classic back to life with cheap Asian made reproduction pieces but the fact is GM doesn't make them anymore and fewer and fewer survivors are left at any price.
Anybody can restore a truck but you can't remake original.
If you are looking for the real deal this is it if you have any questions or concerns regarding this vehicle please ask any questions before you place a bid.
