,
This is quite a find! So many cars for sale are owned by dealers and 'flippers'. They tell you want you want to hear not necessarily the truth. This is not the case here. My brother, who owns this car, has never bought a car to flip in his life. He is a true enthusiast. A show every weekend, always at automotive events. This car is pristine, Lovingly owned by HIM the seller the person who YOU will be dealing with.I'm listing this car for my brother......these are his words....
Thank for looking at my car. Pictures truly do not do it justice. It's a nicer car in person that the pictures show and that is not often the caseIt is as straight and clean of a '56 you will most likely find for the money.
I purchased this car in 2003 and have driven it just over 5000 miles in those 14 years.
Odometer shown 51,799 miles which I believe to be correct.
I knew the car for a few years before I bought it and selling a 1961 Fuel Injected Corvette to make room for it.
You would be amazed by how little work I have had to do to the car in my time. I added a vintage stye tachometer, replaced the radiator and fuel pump tune ups and oil changes. I have NEVER driven it in the rain. The restoration was fabulous.
When the car was done, they started with a ultra clean low mileage California car. NEVER and rust repair, or replacement. As best as I can tell the sheet metal on this car is 100% original and un-repaired. I'm not a numbers matching kinda kinda guy... I'll show what I have and let you figure it out from there. I didn't have a lift to take pictures underneath but I can't see how you could possibly not be blown away but the undercarriage of this car as long as you remember it has been over 20 years since it was restored. Just a Gorgeous car in the perfect color combo!
Sheet metal is 100% original to the car.
Paint is gorgeous.
An original California body.
Solid Lifter Dual Quad engine. I have been told it is correct intake and carbs but a reproduction air cleaner .
Three speed on the column with overdrive
Tag on the rear end says 4:11 I've never checked but believe that is correct.
No power accessories.
I have no idea what is and what is not numbers matching.
BODY: Outstanding. Paint is super nice. No dents, barely a chip or scratch... Needs nothing.

.
INTERIOR: The interior has been redone to the most exacting standards. Everything was new and correct. Radio does not work. [I don't think it's even hooked up] Has added vintage style tach and gauges. Del Ray trim level and again other than it's 20 years old...perfect.
TRUNK: Nicely detailed in every, no rust under the mat. Spotlight is included as well.
CHROME-TRIM-STAINLESS: All original ..either re-chromed, NOS or polished stainless.... Beautiful.

ENGINE-MECHANICALLY: Everything works fine. Doesn't burn a drop of oil, No puffs of smoke, no ticks [EXCEPT FOR THE SOLID LIFTERS], no clunks or vibration or whines. Transmission /clutch/shifter/OVERDRIVE works flawlessly ..NO EXCUSES.
WHEELS+TIRES: Correct, detailed, vintage Sears Allstate.
CHASSIS - FRAME - FLOORS - SUPPORTS:
Outstanding. Never patched or repaired but detail is old. Many picture tell the story.
.
DRIVABILITY: Outstanding driving car! No clunks, rattles or crazy stuff.
A PLEASURE TO DRIVE!
