Folks, I've just got to face it -- I have too many cars. I can fit seven inside the garages at my house and two more on other properties I own, and with two that I bought last year getting ready to come out of shops in the next few weeks, a couple of them just HAVE TO GO and so I am listing two vintage convertibles for you this week - -very low reserves - - - you get the chance to have a couple of great show stoppers way off the money. This 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air convertible is just stunning in Larkspur Blue with a white top - - it was restored a few years ago and they guy just didn't know when to stop spending money - - so much so that he had a $100,000 loan he took out to redo the car (that was after he bought it to start with!!).....and he defaulted. I bought it from the bank. When you pull into a show, people just flock to this car - -spectacular color, beautiful two-tone interior, dual-quad 283 solid-lifter V-8 with factory stick shift (it was the only way you could get the dual-quads anyway), power top.....and he just poured the money in - - new tires, all new rubber seals, complete interior, mechanical rebuild, super clean and shiny underneath, all new chrome, new trim, new whatever he could get - - runs great, drives great, power top works, original owner's manual, new spare, mat for the trunk, gorgeous under the hood....anyways, there are a couple of small issues. Somebody poked about a one inch hole in the convertible top on the bottom, right where it meets the quarter panel. If you patch right behind i, you wont see it that well, and lets face it -- you are going to be driving with the top down 99% of the time anyway - -but if you want to take it to an AACA National or something similar, you will want to fix it right -- and there are a couple of small trim pieces showing some pitting -- nothing that isn't available right out of the catalog. 350 miles since the restoration and the odometer reflects this - they reset it to zero when the car was completed. This is a clean car that was always a nice body - -not some dragged-out-of-a-field rusty junkbox that somebody redid. Corners of the doors, hood and trunk are all clean and straight, floorpans great, etc!
