1951 Chevrolet 3600 3/4 Ton Stake Truck. All original truck. Ordered from the factory with stake body. The truck has lived its entire life in the state of New Mexico. The vehicle has been painted poorly in the past. The body is in amazing condition as far as rust. Some surface rust has formed where the pant has peeled. This could be the beginning of a great Rat-Rod patina. Or, clean her up and give her a real paint job. The body does have waves and dings, Its never been a show piece. Just a good old fashioned work truck. The Huck drum brakes have all had new shoes, wheel cylinders and brake lines. Drums are thick and solid. Master cylinder has been replaced. Truck stops great by 1951 standards. The parking break is not installed.Brake lights and tail lights work. No turn signals on this 51.The engine is original. I was told it was a 235, But I'm pretty sure its a 216. It runs great, Burns a little oil, But stays cool. She will do 65 mph uphill at 7000 FT. Not bad for an old engine that probably needs a rebuild. The wheels are all brand new 8 lug steel one piece rims. Brand new Firestone tires. $2000.00 value just in rims and tires, Not including mounting and balancing.I have the five original split rims with a mismatched set of old tires that come with the truck. The original GM stake bed is in amazing shape for its age and use. All the planks are in rough but functional condition. The seven stake side panels are included. They all attach with 1951 factory latches and hardware. The interior is good. Floors are super solid. I have the original rubber floor mat, But no insulation or sound deadening. Peddles are all great and functioning. Seat cover is clean and only shows minor ware. Steering wheel has cracks (Horn works), The dash has been slightly modified in the past to accommodate an 8-track. But the factory delete panel is back in place. The windshield is good, One stone chip on passenger side. Vent windows work and are solid. Drivers window is perfect and rolls up and down easy. I replaced the passenger side window with new glass, But didn't replace the seals. This ended up causing the window to break one day when the wife slammed the door. It is cracked, But rolls up and down. The truck starts in any weather. Drives nice and gets lots of waves and smiles. She just needs a new home. I am moving and she cant come with me.Most classic car value sites list the lowest value for this truck at $6000.00I think its worth way more than that. I'm pricing it based on the money I have spent on wheels and tires, Plus a fair value for a classic no rust NM truck.Feel free to contact me with any questions or requests.
