I first met Tommy about five years ago when I bought a 1953 Ford he and his father had restored. It was an amazing truck, and it now lives in Germany! Next, I purchased a radical Pro Street Chevy II he built and kept onto it for a little too long because it was so fun to drive! Then, it was yet another Chevy II Pro Street car a year later, and our business led to a friendship, which led to us finding brotherhood in Christ, and a friendship that I value very much! Tommy likes to go fast. He is a well-known and Championship caliber PRO EXTREME Class driver in the PDRA, as well as an integral part of GOD SPEED MINISTRY, which provides Chapel service and ministry in the Motorsports world. He is also SIR THOMAS PERFORMANCE, which specializes in everything automotive and performance related from lift kits to light bars, Turbos and Blowers, and full performance engine builds and swaps, and carries the weight of 35 years of experience in the process. He built this radical little LS swapped shop truck to be the ultimate calling card at car shows and events throughout the country, showcasing not only the performance side of engine building, but also his fabrication, tuning, air ride, suspension, and long-term reliability of the workmanship coming from the shop. The truck was also featured on Season 11, Episode 11 of Velocity TV's TRUCK U television show, where they went through the truck and did a variety of things to it from electric wiper install to resealing some leaks on it prior to Tommy purchasing it. The links to the clips are provided, but the full episodes are not yet available online. Now, with another set of projects looming on the horizon, and the need for cash to finish them, he reluctantly asked if I would be willing to list the truck on his behalf instead of buying it, so we could get him back as much of his investment in it as possible for future projects. I didn't hesitate to say yes, and I am proud to offer it up for sale as if it were one of my own vehicles. It's a 1968 Chevy C10, and I will give you a quick run-down on it, but want to let you know that you can call TOMMY directly at 941-456-8818 bettwen 8am and 7pm EST with any technical or build questions, to talk shop, or argue about money! The truck has the most incredible patina finish you could ask for, and will turn every head pulling into a car show or cruise night when you roll past. The body is solid, but it is NOT a Barrett-Jackson restored body, and does have prior repair spots, metal grafted in, and some bondo and filler in it. That said, it was done to be solid and cruise at 85mph, so no parts are going to fall off or anything, it just has had most of its time spent on the chassis, LS swap and build, and things to make it drive, ride, and handle like new rather than LOOK new. Check though the 100 photos and watch the video. You will get a pretty in-depth understanding of the overall condition, and if you have questions, call Tommy directly, or contact me. Most of the trim and bright work on the car was new, refurbished, or made to look old, but is all very solid and works perfectly with the theme and style of the truck. All of the electrical components like lights and wipers and signals work like they should, and the glass is in very good condition with no cracks, damage, or issues that I could see. Doors close tightly and seal up great, and the gaps in the hood and doors are all very good too. It rolls on killer white 20 inch Detroit Steel wheels, and they are wrapped in good rubber with at least 65% of the useable tread left on them. Seals and weather stripping are all in good condition, and work like they should. Tailgate opens and closes like it should, and isn't rotted out on the sides or anything. Bed wood is solid and useable, but it looks patina style like the rest of the truck. It has a wicked stance, and the air ride won't lay the rockers, but gets it down plenty low, while still allowing a great level of feel and handling prowess when you want to start carving up the twisty back roads. It has under dash controls for each corner, and the gauges work like they should. He noted the best overall ride/handling height on the pod as a reminder of where to set it. It airs up quick, drops quick, and always seems to have enough in the tank to let you do either at will. Front clip is Camaro with disc brakes, and the engine swap came from a late model 2500HD pickup with about 15,000 miles on it that had been wrecked. It is a 6.0 liter LS with Comp Cam and springs, Holley Tunnel intake, long tube headers, a custom made cold air intake, 6-speed manual transmission with RAM clutch, 12-Bolt rear with 3.83 gearing, and it will cruise the freeway at 80mph all day long at just 1,700RPM while giving you maximum power with just a press of the gas and shift of the gears anytime you want it! I can't stress enough how good the truck runs, rides, and drives. It is like driving my late model, and you'd forget it was a cool old classic if it weren't for all the people trying to take your picture on the roads! Inside is clean and neat, and finished enough for the look of the truck, with room to add your personal touches if you wanted to. Carpet, shifter boot and shift arm, sill plates, seat cover, wheel, and more are all new, and the full set of PRO COMP GPS gauges work wonderfully to monitor vitals. An AM/FM digital tuned radio looks up but works like new, and has upgradable functionality. If you want a comfortable, reliable, and ready to drive anywhere pickup that catches looks like a supermodel, this is the truck for you. Like I said, CALL TOMMY with tech questions on the build. He would LOVE to talk to you about it, and can be reached at (941) 456-8818 I think that is about all I can tell you about the car, but if you have questions PLEASE CALL TOMMY or MYSELF! I don't get onto eBay to read messages but once a day, but my phone is ALWAYS with me. My cell is 941-286-0889 Dealers can purchase the car on a wholesale order and are welcomed to contact me directly. |
