While many upgrades were made the desired cosmetic goal was achieved with the original color combinations of nassau blue exterior and medium blue leather seating accented by a premium white convertible top. The original 396 engine was given a complete high performance build by the highly respected shop of mark small, where quality parts such a, diamond shelf pistons, bullet cam and lifters, comp springs, king rod and main bearings, edelbrock aluminum heads and intake manifold,msd electronic ignition,and hooker headers to name a few were used to complement theprecision machining, balancing and assembly of mark small to provide apowerful yetextremely dependable power plant Dyno testing at well over 500hp. The package was then fitted with a high performance clutch, pressure plate, and flywheel. In order tocomfortably handle the tremendous torque output a keisler hydraulicclutch activator was added and provides smooth engagement with thetremac 5 speed transmission. Drive shaft components were balanced and coupled to a 3:70 ratio positraction rear, permitting highway speeds at 2000 rpm. The cooling system provides operating temperatures of 180 degrees or less with the a/c activated using an f.a.s.t. aluminum radiator and a 2500cfm fan. The four wheel disc brakes use a state of the arts hydro-boost unit insuring safe straight stops. Power steering is accomplishedwith alate model borg gear box working in conjunction with an Ididit adjustable steering column. Driving is made comfortable by the addition of vintage air conditioning and peace of mind is enhanced with the installation of built in front and rear radar detectors. The chassis was perfectly aligned and unlike many stingrays this car drives straight and true and comes fully sorted. The modification and restoration process was completed at a cost in excess of $150,000.
