The drive train was rebuilt to factory specs from the u-joints on up. The L-47, 402 ci motor is a 310 hp unit from a 1970 Chevrolet pickup, the motor suffix code is TBG. The transmission and the rear end have also been rebuilt to factory specifications. The front and rear suspensions and brake systems have been completely rebuilt with all new tie rod ends, shocks, bushings, ball joints, brake components and bearings. An Early Classics spring refit has dropped the truck 2" in the front and 4" in the rear. The original cab, doors, fenders, hood, cowl vent panel and frame were media blasted to bare, rust-free metal prior to the application of anticorrosion materials, primer, surfacer and base/clear materials from PPG. The external bottom of the cab floor and the box floor have been coated with color matching bed liner material.
The front buddy bucket seats are original to this truck and recovered in period correct houndstooth material. The interior rearview mirror was relocated to the windshield for ease of use. The headliner, although not original to this truck, was installed to cut down on cab noise. The Retrosound, OEM look alike radio has UBS and Bluetooth capabilities installed in an uncut dash. The interior of the cab and doors were covered with Dynamat sound deadening material prior to the installation of new carpet and door trim panels. A complete new wiring harness was installed. All new seals, weather stripping, door internals, mount bushings, glass, and trim were installed. All exterior trim including bumpers, headlight assemblies, grill, logos, door handles, locks, mirrors, tail lights, glass moldings, etc. were replaced with largely new, aftermarket parts with some NOS and original parts utilized where available and of good quality.
