The Stingray present before you is one rare find. This car has remarkable history being purchased new from S&S Chevrolet by Frederick J and Sybil Hostetler on November 3rd, 1966. The car was lovingly preserved by all three owners with history following the car along the way. The car was considered an unrestored survivor when the third owner took possession. Then the car was treated to a full frame off restoration to better then new standards. The car was all new from the ground up. This was a no expense spared restoration. The restoration was performed a few years back and still presents very well. The car has all the correct factory stamps and and chalk markings. As you look through this listing you will see photos of the car through the entire frame off restoration process. The original chalk markings for body shims and chassis numbers were put in place prior to dropping the body back on the frame. During the restoration the car was upgraded with Knock off Wheels and Side exhaust chambered exhaust. The attention to detail was remarkable and the quality shows today.
Not only does the Stingray look incredible, driving this car is even better. The car was restored to new original condition including the engine, transmission, rear, suspension etc. The car runs incredible with the original L-79 engine producing a lot of power. The clutch engages smoothly, and transmission shifts with easy. All lights, gauges, radio, horn, heat, work as they should. The car is very well sorted and is an absolute pleasure to drive. Everything does what it should. The only item not working at this moment, is the clock. One word to describe driving this machine is exhilarating!
This Stingray has it all! the right options, history, restoration quality, and original documentation to make this Corvette stand ahead of the pack. This may be the finest all around 1966 Corvette available today.
