Car description |
---|
'63 Corvette coupe (yes, the split window) project that a guy started as a Pro-Touring build and then had to punch out due to other priorities in life. I picked it up with the intention of completing, but before going all-in, I'm floating it out here to see if anyone wants it more than I do. (i.e. flip it for a profit) The previous owner had put $95K into it when I picked it up, and I've accumulated an extra $1K worth of C5 seats & tracks that also go with it. Ifthis dream projectis worth $86K or more to you, it can be yours.
If you keep up with the market for these '63 SWC pro-touring cars, you'll know that theyfrequently sell for $200-$300K at auction, depending on how well they are finished out. If you're a builder who can do the remaining work here, there is $100K profit potential in this car.
Here are the particulars:

Here are the particulars:
- The body and most of the parts are at Hedges Corvette in NW Arkansas. Entire front end has been replaced with new one-piece hand-laid part and a new hood. Body work isdone through gel-coat and blocking. The door gaps have not yet been done because it's awaiting the new chassis to arrive so everything can be shimmed properly and then work thegaps. The owner of the shop will complete the paint & body for $6Klabor +materials, which will probably run around $2K from this point. If you know these cars, then you know that's a pretty good deal.
- Bird cage & drip rails are all excellent. The driver side drip rail had some rust when the project started, but it has been replaced and is good as new. I have more pic's of the key areas.
- FYI...As is typical for these cars with chassis upgrades, the rear floor has been cut out and replaced with larger wheel tubs and a raised floor. This eliminates the rear storage compartments and requires some custom carpet work in the back.
- Rear fenders are OEM and are not widened. With the tubbed wheel wells and custom chassis, you can fit up to a 12" wide wheel in the back with out any fender mods.
- The car has its original chassis in Arkansas; so if you decide you want to ship the chassis straight to your place, the carcan still be easily shipped asa roller.
- The chassis with C7 Corvette suspensionis being built by Chassis Concepts out in the Philadelphia, PA area. You can look them up online to learn more about the shop and the product. All that remains to complete it is a front brake line that the guy is waiting for from a supplier, and I expect it will be ready to ship out to either Hedges shop or your garage by the end of March. Chassis is complete with suspension, coil-over performance shocks, C7base Brembo brakes, 2014 C7 base wheels & tires, steering rack & pinion, complete brake & fuel lines (no fuel tank or pump), upgraded C5 Corvette differential w/ 3.42:1 gear set, new half-shafts, and other miscellaneous bits & pieces. It will come as a complete rolling chassis ready for the body drop.
- All of the expensive and hard to find '63-unique trim is there and in excellent shape. The external trim has all been straightened and polished already. The internal trim need to be refinished but is in great shape. There is one piece of the inside door surround molding that has a small dent that you'll want to get worked, but the rest is straight as an arrow.
- The following list summarizes all of the parts that go with this sale. There is no engine or transmission included.
