It doesn't take much to transform an ordinary pickup truck into something totally eye-catching, and this 1969 Chevrolet C10 does it rather well. With fuel-injected LS2 power, the right stance, and a very nicely renovated interior, it's a fun hauler that can actually be used as intended. No vehicle looks bad in black so it shouldn't be a surprise that it looks awesome on the angular Chevy's bodywork. Refinished a few years ago, it's not show-truck perfect, but it does get a lot of attention out on the road and the builder deserves some kudos for leaving it pretty much the way the factory made it. Panel fit is about what you got when it was new, and even with a few signs of use, it's the kind of truck that most guys would love to have in their garage. It shines up well and gives the truck a lot of details that catch the eye without looking like it's trying too hard. Some of original trim was retained, but badges and mirrors were deleted, cleaning it up and making it look sleek. There's a '67 bumper up front, which is a little cleaner than the later pieces, plus a bed from a later model, all working together to make this truck stand out. The working part of the bed shows some bumps and bruises, so you won't mind using it as intended now and then, no harm done there. The original interior was given a makeover using gray cloth and it works especially well in this cool pickup truck. With matching cloth door panels that offer the same pleats as the bench seat it looks quite factory, and the painted dashboard brings it all together quite nicely. Black floor coverings and a matching dash pad ensure that it isn't all monochromatic inside, and it appears that someone whipped up a custom set of floor mats to match. Original gauges monitor the new LS2 V8 up front and an AM/FM/cassette stereo that should probably be replaced with something a little more up-to-date for cruising. The three-spoke steering wheel is very much like one you'd find in a vintage Camaro, so sliding behind it will feel like getting into a muscle car, especially with that torquey injected V8 for power. You'll get strong performance from the 6.0 liter LS2 V8 under the hood, which runs quite well and provides entertaining acceleration around town. Borrowed from a 2000 Chevy Silverado with about 60K on the clock, there's horsepower you can feel and the installation almost looks OEM. It's not show-quality, but for driving it's hard to beat this proven combination. Big torque, instant starting, and excellent road manners are all part of the package. That package also includes 4-wheel disc brakes and power steering as well as a rugged 4L80E 4-speed automatic transmission, so just about anyone can jump into this truck and hit the road without lessons or practice. Dual exhaust with a throaty pair of mufflers gives it the right sound and the chassis is in good condition, indicative of a truck that's lived its life someplace warm. A slightly lowered stance evens out the profile and it sits on 20-inch Torque Thrust wheels and 275/40/20 performance radials.A neat truck that looks great going down the road and runs superbly, all wrapped in muscle car attitude.
