Car description

Just another Camaro you say? Guess again! This nicely built resto-mod 1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS 350 hardtop is the kind of car everyone at the local cruise night stops to admire and given the quality of the work, you couldn't hope to duplicate it for the asking price. With all the modern conveniences, including fuel injection, overdrive, and A/C, it's also a car you can drive anywhere in total comfort. The color is pretty close to Marina Blue, and it quite appropriately seems to scream off the sheetmetal. It's so luscious that it looks like you could dip your finger in it because it's still wet, and it shines up beautifully. It's driver-grade, but that's on purpose because it wasn't designed to sit around and collect trophies, it was built to drive. No major body mods aside from the cowl-induction hood, but you'd have to be crazy to think you can make a 1969 Camaro look better than this. The bodywork is extremely nice, sharp enough to wear that high-visibility paint with ease, and shows off the kind of attention to detail that separates the good cars from the great ones. White Z/28 stripes lend it a performance look that's especially effective and all the requisite SS badges and features have been installed, from the blacked-out grille to the gills in the quarter panels. Is it a real SS or RS? Does it matter? This car is way too cool to worry about things like that. You just have to embrace what it is today. The same goes for the interior, which is quite nicely done in simple black vinyl. Everything is new, of course, and looks extremely tidy and well-executed, and a custom center console augments the original, adding a pair of cup holders and a useful armrest. The OEM center console with a horseshoe shifter remains the coolest gear selector in history, and there's some convincing-looking faux wood that warms things up a bit. Auxiliary gauges give a complete look at the hot small block under the hood and yes, this is a factory A/C car where the system still blows ice cold thanks to restored hardware working behind the scenes. Entertainment comes from an AM/FM radio that uses new front speakers to deliver the sound. Open the deck lid and you'll also find a correctly restored trunk with a reproduction mat and matching spare tire assembly. But the real reason this Camaro is special is the 350 cubic inch V8 under the hood. Fitted with a new FAST electronic fuel injection system, Edelbrock intake manifold, MSD ignition, and a mild cam inside, it snarls and barks like a caged animal, yet is docile enough to drive every day. The engine bay is nicely finished with a combination of stock and aftermarket parts, all of which have been shined up and carefully installed. A big aluminum radiator keeps tabs on the temperatures, and it offers both power brakes and power steering. The transmission is now a 200R4 4-speed automatic overdrive, so it's an incredible highway cruiser with lightning-quick reflexes on the streets and there's a bulletproof 12-bolt rear end that was recently rebuilt. The underside is finished in basic black and a lot of the equipment is new, including the exhaust system and gas tank. Correct Rally wheels are fitted with 235/60/15 BFG radials, which complete the resto-mod look.Beautifully built and impressively fast, this is a no-compromises early Camaro that really can do it all.
