1953 Chevrolet 3100 Series 5 Window Truck

1953 Chevrolet 3100 Truck - This truck was originally utilized by one of the nation's largest rural telecommunications companies as an event marketing, dvertising and branding icon. There were four of these built and sent out in custom enclosed trailers on event tours. This particular truck was one of the first two that were built and the "hero" in all the photography and television productions that followed. The "Green Truck Tour" was a successful marketing program from 2006 to 2010, ut these trucks were retired from duty following the 2010 road tour season.

I drove this truck "Longhaul" in the 2007 Hot Rod Power Tour, hich ran from Cleveland, H and ended in Little Rock, R. Nearly 1/3 of the total milage that has been put on the truck, ince it's rebuild, as put on it during that seven day event/drive, ut she was a trooper and never let me down. The truck was put on the track at the Charlotte Motor Speedway and filmed for a television commercial. During a break in the filming, he got loosened up and managed to hit a top speed of 148 MPH - not amazing by any rights, ut pretty quick for a truck of this vintage.

When she was rebuilt (resto-modded) in early 2006, he originally had a single-stage Dupont Imron paint job, ut she has since been completely stripped and prepped for a multi-stage paint job that is virtually flawless. The body is arrow-straight and smooth as glass. There is a minor scuff under the driver's side front fender, rom where I got over a small curb with the air bags deflated, t a car show last year.
