1937 CADILLAC LASALLE, SOLID CALIFORNIA CAR, REBUILT ENG, RUNS AND DRIVES,VIDEO

You are bidding on a great restoration project. 1937 LaSalle Sedan. In 1937. LaSalle was part of the Cadillac family. Great Art-Deco styling inside and out. Car is very solid. with minimal rust. The only rust on the car is at the bottom of the doors. and it's limited to the exterior skin. You can see in the pics that the bottoms of the doors. and the seams are excellent. No other rust anywhere. This car has never been painted! Original paint everywhere. and zero bondo. The spots you see are black primer. that the previous owner put over the thin spots to prevent surface rust. The trunk and floors are as solid as the day it was born. In the trunk is also the original jack and tools. along with the original spare tire. The engine was rebuilt previously. and has some modern upgrades which make it run great. It was converted to 12 volts. and has new wiring throughout. Someone was a genius. and figured out a way to adapt a later model GM HEI distributor to this engine. giving you the modern convenience of electronic ignition. It also was adapted to accept a modern Rochester 2bbl carburetor. The car runs excellent! has new exhaust from front to back. and starts as soon as you hit the button. No smoke at all at start up. or while running. I believe the transmission was rebuilt at the same time. although there is a small leak at the bottom cover. Nothing major. it doesn't leave a puddle. you can just see some fluid on the bottom of the trans. The shifter should get some attention. it's quite loose. I would like to speak to the buyer on the phone. to explain the shifter. Regardless. it's a great driving car as it sits. I drive it around locally quite a bit. and it gets a ton of attention. The car has been lowered by a previous owner. Personally. I think it looks amazing this way. If you want to put it back to stock. it's exceptionally easy. None of the original parts were modified to do this. It would take about an hour or so. and no new parts are needed. The interior is decent. but aged. The headliner has a hole over the passenger front. The front and rear seats both have some splits in them. The speedometer doesn't function. The oil pressure and temp gauge work. the fuel gauge does not. The car has about 40 psi of oil pressure when driving at normal operating temperature. and runs cool. The tires are about 50 years old. and all hold air. and I drive locally on them. although they need to be replaced ASAP. This is not a "fly in. drive home" car. I've driving locally quite a bit. and it's a lot of fun. but in all reality you'd need to transport it home. and make sure everything is safe. before you hit the road. The car is almost 80 years old. please don't expect perfection. Clean. clear. California title in my name. currently in non-op status with DMV. so no back fees are due.
