Air conditioning ($474),
Tinted Glass ($52),
Power Steering,
Power Brakes,
Autronic Eye Headlamp Dimmers($46),
Power windows,
Power Door Locks ($70),
6 Way-Power seat ($85),
Power antenna, Power top,
Remote mirror,
Remote Trunk release ($59),
AM radio with rear speaker ($165),
2 spd electric windshield wipers with washers,
White sidewall tires ($57).
After the infamous 1959 Cadillac tail fins GM decided to enter the new decade with a "bigger isn't necessary better" philosophy and the 1960 Cadillac was given a slightly less dramatic fin when compared to the tacked on twin pod lamps used in '59. Less chrome also was to slowly become an industry standard and it was now used primarily as a body highlight and not purely for decoration. Powertrains remained the same as the in '59 although this was the last year that a 2barrel or 3x2 barrel 'Tri-Power' carburetor was offered. This would also be the last year for the wrap around windshield styling. In 1960 Cadillac was the ultimate GM jewel outselling Lincoln, Chrysler & Imperial combined!
The Harley Earl designed Cadillac Series 62 was a large luxurious Cadillac that could easily carry six people and had a power top, air suspension and featured a large 6,390 cc (390 c.i.) V8 engine with drum brakes. The marque was discontinued in 1964.
This car has it's rare original factory 'Fawn Metallic' color paint with a beautifully original matching 'Saddle' color leather interior and it's factory tonneau cover and a correct 'Light Sandalwood' color power soft top! The floor boards, trunk and all the typical rust-prone areas are completely solid and rust-free and the car has no signs of any accidents - obviously an always garaged and cherished car since new.
The car has it's original 390 V8 engine which is extremely strong and powerful and sounds absolutely magnificent! This particular car also drives absolutely magnificently - it must really be seen and driven to be fully appreciated - a truly remarkable daily driver that will give any modern day car a run for it's money!
This is a rare opportunity to own a great daily driving and rust free example of a rare unrestored survivor and highly factory optioned (very few Cadillac buyers ordered factory A/C in 1960 due to it's exorbitant cost!) 1960 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible! A striking example which is a perfect car for the Cadillac enthusiast who would appreciate it's rare authentic originality or simply a great daily driving and turn-key ready example of one very fine classic 1960's American classic car for any classic American classic car collector!
