Car description |

Beautifully restored in original, factory color combination of Black over Red & White Leather interior! All number's matching drivetrain and very well optioned! Formerly owned out of California by MLB Hall of Fame pitcher Trevor Hoffman! Ready to cruise the boulevard! A very attractive example!
The fifth generation Cadillac Series 62 was introduced in 1957 and only carried through 1958. They represent one of the most stylish and well received examples available to collectors today! For 1958, there was a new grille featuring multiple round "bullets" at the intersection of the horizontal and vertical members. Dual headlamps were now standard equipment on production vehicles, and Cadillac used small chrome fins to decorate the front fenders. The grille was wider and new bumper guards were positioned closer to the parking lamps. Tailfins were less pronounced and the word Cadillac appeared highlighted in block letters on the fin's top edge. On the sides of the car were five longer horizontal wind splits ahead of the skirt-less rear wheel openings, along with horizontal front fender moldings. The convertibles used decorative lower rocker moldings that flowed beautifully into the polished wheel lip moldings. A gorgeous Cadillac no doubt, and one that was truly meant to cruise the boulevard in style!
Offered here is a beautiful 1958 Cadillac Series 62 Convertible Coupe finished in factory code correct 10-Black with 1-White convertible top and 28C-Red & White combination leather interior! Under the hood remains the factory original, number's matching 365ci OHV V8 producing 310 horsepower and 405 ft. lbs. of torque. This wonderful engine is mated to Cadillac's durable Hydra-Matic automatic transmission with standard 3.07:1 rear axle gearing allowing for superb highway travel! Features include power steering & brakes, 6-way power seat, power folding soft top, E-Z-Eye tinted glass, automatic headlight dimmer, windshield washer, door edge guards, passenger visor vanity mirror, AM radio with rear seat speaker, day/night rearview mirror, engine oil filtration system, polished wheel covers, and 215/75R15 wide whitewall tires by Coker Classic.
According to the Cadillac Identification Card label located on the radiator support, this example sold new to Joseph Ferrante of Morristown, NJ from Feldner Cadillac located in Hackensack, NJ on April 1st, 1958. It showcases an older cosmetic restoration that continues to amaze upon closer examination! The exterior paint was recently polished professionally to a high shine and mirror-like finish! The exterior chrome was all been re-plated and all stainless bright work retain a smooth finish with high luster! The interior leather possesses some typical signs of past driver enjoyment, but overall continues to show exceptionally well! The seat cushions support passengers very well, and the leathers remains exceptionally soft. The fitment of all panels prove outstanding, and everything opens and closes with ease! It last came out of California where is was owned by 2018 Major League Baseball Hall of Fame inductee, 2-time Rolaids Pitcher of the Year, and 7-time All-Star pitcher Trevor Hoffman!
Upon arrival to the St. Louis Car Museum, we fully rebuilt the carburetor, installed new spark plugs, replaced the valve cover gaskets and left side motor mount, fitted new sway bar bushings as well as replacement of the engine oil with new oil filter. It was already previously equipped with a thermostatically controlled electric cooling fan to handle long days in California traffic, front seat belts for added safety, along will a storage car cover for days when the sun isn't shining. This beautiful Convertible Coupe represents one of only 7,825 units produced in 1958, making fantastic examples as nice as this one very hard to find! We invite all interested parties to our showroom for inspections and closer review!
