Represents one of only 2,150 Eldorado Biarritz Convertibles produced in 1956! Finished in Alpine White with Turquoise/White interior, with power coming from a 365ci 2x4 Carbureted V8 making 305 horsepower and Hydra-Matic transmission! Fully loaded with all power features to include power steering & brakes, power windows, power seat, power top, push button trunk release, and more! The Cadillac Eldorado gained additional success in their second generation design, mainly due the lowering the overall cost for buyers. This was due to utilizing the same, standard body panels as other models, and identifying the Eldorado with specific body trim, gold emblems, and aluminum panels. Since the Eldorado's inception, it was only available in convertible form, so by 1956, a new hardtop version called the Eldorado Seville was added to the model lineup. This renamed the convertible models the Eldorado Biarritz. Both styles were quite rare, with 4,900 Sevilles and 2,150 Biarritz produced in 1956! These accounted for just 4% of Cadillac sales!
Offered here is a beautifully restored 1956 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Convertible finished in Alpine White over Turquoise & White Leather interior and matching White convertible top! Under the hood lies the powerful 365ci 2x4 Carter-carbureted V8 producing 305 horsepower/400 ft. lbs. of torque, mated to a 4-speed Hydra-Matic transmission.  Options were abundant to include power steering & brakes, power windows & convertible top, 3-piece parade boot cover, 6-way power seat, polished cast aluminum Sabre wheels wrapped in BF Goodrich Silvertown Radial 235/75R15 tires, pushbutton AM radio with power antenna, remote driver's mirror, power trunk release, Guide Autronic Eye headlight dimmer, and more!
Showcasing an older, comprehensive restoration that included a full new exterior repaint and completely new interior upholstery, it remains in remarkable condition today!  Hailing from Florida in recent years, it sold into a large, private Swiss collection in March 2013. It would make its way back into the United States in 2019, giving the opportunity for the St. Louis Car Museum to have it here on display! Upon arrival to the museum, a full mechanical inspection was performed and the following was completed in our service center: new fuel pump, new hydraulic top lifts installed for the convertible top; totally rebuilt the entire front end with new control arm bushings, king pins& king pin bushings, stabilizer links, & rebuilt steering box; full brake adjustment, new fuel sending unit, new engine oil/filter, all new spark plugs, new thermostat, complete coolant flush, new under hood insulation. We also replaced the complete interior carpet for brand new!  The car remains wonderfully rust free, with very good cosmetics and drive qualities! We invite interested buyers to call with additional questions or to schedule a chance to see this Cadillac in person. It marks a rare opportunity to own a very special piece of early Eldorado Biarritz history!
