Car description

1969 Cadillac DeVille Convertible

This is a nice cadillac drop-top convertible. This car belonged to a friend of mine from about 1994 until I bought it in 2017. Before that, it had been parked indoors since 1995 when the previous owner went into the military. This is a nice, clean driver. No rust. Runs great. No smoke or anything weird like that. Below are all the details.I have more pics I can send of the car.It was also foggy insome of the exterior pics, which is why some look different. The car looks really nice in the sun though. Thanks.

MECHANICAL
This car has the 472 big block V8. 375 horsepower and 525 foot pounds of torque. Automatic transmission (I believe they all were). The engine runs perfect. It does not smoke or rattle or have any lifter ticking. No engine leaks. It starts up perfect every time. The car does need an a/c pump. The a/c pump has a bearing going out. I disconnected the belt to know for sure that the noise was coming from the pump. So, the a/c does not work at this time. All the other a/c components look fine. Everything else works on the car. This includes all the lights, heater, wipers, seat, power windows, radio, parking brake, gauges. The lighter probably works too. The tires are new, but were in storage for a few years. I bought them and then took them off a pickup I had so they had a couple hundred miles on them maybe. They drive nice and have no weather checking. The car has what I believe are aftermarket rims, probably put on when it was new or in the 70's. It has a matching spare wheel/tire also. The car has the original tire jack and owners manual. The switch for the top has been replaced with a switch under the dash. I am not sure but I believe this was done to prevent people from messing with the switch and breaking the top. Some people don't know that you have to open the latch on each side by the windshield before you put the top down. The car drives nice. It does need shocks. The exhaust is dual with turbo style mufflers and it's quiet. I changed the transmission fluid and put a new filter in it. I also put a new seal on the output shaft because it had a small leak. No leaks now from the transmission. Overall the car is very mechanically sound. I would not be afraid to drive it across the country.

BODY
The body on the car is very nice. No dents. Not even a door ding that I could find. The paint is good but looks original and has some chips and wear. Nothing major but it's not in show condition. Very good driver condition. No signs of any collision damage or repaint. Paint in the jams and under the hood is all the same color. I had the car on a lift to do the transmission filter and there is absolutely no rust underneath or anything that looks like rust at all. I don't know the history on the car from before the '94, but it looks to have never seen salt ever. Montana salts the roads a little now, but I don't believe they salted at all when this car was last on the road. No rust in the trunk either. All doors open/shut as the should and the trunk and hood do also. All keys included. The top has one small rip about 1" maybe. I have had the car covered since I've had it but I may seal that rip or you can.
INTERIOR
The interior is in nice shape overall. The piping on the edge of the drivers seat, on the seat back, is worn off in a spot. You can see it in the pics. An upholstery guy could probably fix that easily or color it blue to match. The seat bottom has a little wear but no rips and not worn through anywhere. The rest of the interior is very nice. No other seat wear. No cracks in the dash or door panels. Rear seat very nice. It looks good anyways. The interior doesn't have any weird smells. I have more pics of the interior I can send.
