Car description

This is a 1985 Cadillac Eldorado with 15163 miles on the odometer. One look at the car tells you it is accurate. I have had the pleasure of driving this car for the past 5 plus years when it had just under 9K miles on it. This car has not set idle since I have it.....I have put 6Kmiles on it. The car was originally purchased Chicago, IL. It spent most of it life in New York City where it was real driven to go shopping. 7 or so years ago it was passed down to a family member near Detroit, MI. He trailered the car from NYC to MI. I drove it from MI to Ozark, MO where i live. The previous owner had the Rolls Royce Type Grill put on the car. I have 2 parts of the old grille that comes with the car. There were some small issues with the car that I have taken care of. The head liner was dropping and has been replaced and is now looks great. The power antenna (PWR) was broken but a new one came with the car. It is installed and works great.I replaced the AM/FM radio with a Pioneer AM/FM/CD player that has a USB connection. No one wanted to replace the power antenna.I finally had that done at the Cadillac dealer in Springfield, MO. They had to remove the outer and inner fenders which did not come cheap. I do have the original radio and it comes with the car. I had the fuel pump replaced as now and again the car would not start. The problem went completely away. The air conditioner did not work. The Cadillac dealer fixed the problem and I also had them upgrade the freon to the current standard. It blows cold and is automatically controlled.
The engine is a 4.1 Liter V8 with digital fuel injection. Since I have had the car the oil has been changed almost every 6 months. 6 months ago the belt that runs the air condoner and the power steering broke.....and has been replaced. In January 2018 the automatictransmission started leaking. It was taken to the Cadillac dealer and "all" seals on the bottom of the car were replaced at a cost of $2400.This car charges to life when it is started. Since I have had this car there has been absolutely no problem with the engine or drive train. It runs down the road straight and true.....it is mad for highway cruising. I had the hood struts replaced as the hood with the bigger front end would not stay up. It does now....but still be careful.
The Caddy has power steering, door edge guards from the factory, rear window and heated outside mirrors. It has cruise control and tilt steering. The original front and rear floor mats with Cadillac logo are like new. The wire wheel covers are in great condition. At one point I was offered $250 apiece for them. They come with a locking key just under the center cap. Every thing of this car works!!! Even the fender mounted turn signal lights. The dash is not cracked and in great condition. I have a maroon carpeted pad over it for protection.
The color of the car is Firemist Metallic. The Cranberry Cabriolet roof is in excellent condition. The Dark Claret Interior is flawless....showing hardly any wear. The paint is 70% original. Shortly after I had the car it was hit in a parking on the rear driver side panel. It was not serious and is a 100% match. I used a shop that does a lot of work for me. They mentioned that the trunk at some time had been repainted. However they saw no signs of damage. In July I had all the bumper fillers replaced and painted. They are now ready for 33 more years of use. What really stands out on this car is the chrome and bight work. It is very obvious that this car was always garaged, maintained and loved. The rubber seals on the car are pliable and in good condition. Every other wash or so I used McGuire rubber protection on them.
There is a unique feature on this car. In the picture of the front left fender you will see a small round Cadillac emblem. The emblem slides away and there is a key to arm an alarm that is a LOUD siren. The system was installed by the ACE Chicago Alarm Company. They are no longer in existence and I hav not been able to find information on it. The Cadillac dealer had never seen one before. I do know one thing.....it works. There is one round key that arms the car. If the doors are opened with the alarm on....the siren goes off. There is also a toggle switch under the dash to turn it on. Do not slam the trunk. It has a working pull down that finishes the close of the trunk.
There are maybe 3 very minor chips in the paint. As this is mostly original paint....that is amazing. The car comes with the original sticker....although very wrinkled. There is also the build sheet and some misc. paper work. I have most of the important work that I have had done on the car. There is also a complete car cover that comes with the Caddy.
I will be sorry to let this car go. My age and the fact that I have bought 2 new cars means something has to sit outside. For now the Caddy remains in the garage. This car is on a clear MO title. A deposit of $500 by PayPal 24 hours after purchase is required.. Final payment by Cashiers Check is required before car is released. Pick up only.....but will help co-ordinate if you prefer driving or trailing the car. Pick up must be done on a week day before 5 pm. I would not hesitate to drive this care anywhere. The car is listed locally as well and will be removed from ebay if sold. Car to be sold in the lower USA only.
If you email me with your personal email address I can send your 60 plus photos of the car. I can not send them via the ebay email system. You can also call me at 417-485-0244 with any questions. Thank you for looking in.
