1957 Cadillac - Custom In the past, lead sleds were typically reserved for the 50 Fords and Mercurys of the world but there is no doubt that 1 look at this Caddy has had builders running out to customize one of their own. This 1957 Cadillac Custom has an extremely unique lead sled look and was constructed using only the best of the best. The car easily has the potential to be the next best of show winner at any indoor or major car show near you. It is the type of classic you see as the featured vehicle in magazines and on the cover. The exterior of the car is incredibly sleek and builds off of the classy bodylines already found on the vintage Cadillac Seville. You havent seen a car draw a crowd until you have pulled up in this car. The Lime Green metallic paint has everyone turning your direction and the custom Silver flames and pinstriping keep them there. The chrome and trim work on the car is in beautiful condition and everything has a mirror like finish. Pinstriping was laid down both around the flames and on the hood and deck lid with some freestyle work. On the rear incorporated into the pinstriping is the iconic Von Dutch flying eye and we feel this is the type of classic the man himself would approve of. Blue dots were incorporated into the rear taillight lenses and are an old school feature that everyone loves to point out. The exterior was shaved clean of any door handles or trim other than a few custom added accents. The stance of the car is entirely adjustable utilizing the air ride suspension but the car looks perfect sitting low to the ground. The airbags and windows can be raised and lowered with the key fob! It is fun to watch people looking at the car as you raise it up or lower back to the ground with nobody in the car. Classic Caddy wheels/hubcaps tuck nicely into the fenders and are all wrapped with wide white wall tires that look great. The hubcaps have the name "Scraped" embossed in the centers to match the door and seat emblems Under the hood is a dual quad 365V8 that starts up well with no issues. The Odometer shows 2306 miles and not verified how many since the matching numbers engine was rebuilt. The Hydramatic automatic transmission shifts smoothly and she cruises down the freeway easily. The entire engine compartment is show quality with a beautiful finish. The compartment was entirely painted green to match the exterior and creates a very clean look. Chrome, polished and billet parts jump out at you everywhere you look. Small details like matching spark plug wires really make the difference when it comes to dressing up a motor. An aluminum radiator is mounted out front with a large electric push fan to keep it running cool. The interior of the car utilizes some custom components to build on some of the original features that are already there. Areas like the dash utilize the original components but it has been refinished with green paint and beautiful chrome. A Vintage AC/Heat system was added to the car and blows ice cold or heats perfectly. The polished Vintage Air controls look right at home on the dash. The original Cadillac steering wheel looks perfect in front of the driver and has been custom finished out as well. Bench seats are in place in front in rear and both have a center arm rest with cup holders that fold out of the way. The upholstery is all done in Beige ultra leather and is very comfortable. Small "Scraped" emblems are mounted to the seats and show the level of detail work in the car. The door panels were custom done to incorporate an arm rest and speaker. The upholstery work in the trunk is just as well done as the rest and has custom flames incorporated into the sides and deck lid. If your in the market for a custom dont miss your chance on this one. You will find yourself constantly coming back to check it out as this car just has a way of sticking in your head. Those sharp fins are unforgettable and the first year Cadillac came up with them in a low production year vehicle. This model is rare and many are selling for 6 figures if you want he'd the Barrett-Jackson auction. You will NOT find another custom quite like this one, especially for under $58,000.
